20+ Healthy Snack Ideas For Kids and AdultsSummer is all about having fun and enjoying the break. Sometimes, I get a little ahead of myself with all the sugar filled beverages and snacks that eating healthy becomes very hard.

With all the grilling, mini vacations, get togethers and outdoor parties it’s kinda hard NOT to eat junk food!

For me the best way to avoid unhealthy eating habits is to make sure I always have healthy snacks on hand. If they are convenient and easy to reach then they are more likely to be eaten.

20+ Healthy Snack Ideas For Kids and AdultsThe thought of homemade snacks used to terrify me but the truth is at homemade snacks don’t have to be complicated. Something as simple as a healthy trail mix or even chopped fruit can go a long way.

I love chopping up a big bowl or mixed fruit and storing the fruit in small plastic containers that way when my husband or daughter open the fridge the fruit bowls are right there in front of them and they are more likely to grab one and eat it to take it to go!

20+ Healthy Snack Ideas For Kids and Adults

Recently I’ve been obsessed with the new Quicktakes® plastic containers. They are the ultimate convenience for any busy lifestyle. In the past I used the regular plastic containers but the lids always got lost and my daughter never seemed to bring them back from school.

Now I don’t have to worry about the lid getting lost because of the attached lids and flexibility between one time use or multiple uses. Attached lids mean you don’t have to waste time looking for and matching lids, they are disposable so you don’t have to worry about cleaning them, clear plastic means you can quickly see the contents, etc.

Quicktakes® are dishwasher safe (reusable), BPA free, recyclable and affordable enough to throw out after using (feel guilt free about giving them away or tossing out)! You can find them at Amazon.

  5. Thanks so much for including my snack bites in this great post. You are so right, that it is somewhat harder to stay in the zone during summer. Plus, the food seems to disappear much more rapidly while the kids are home. Great post!
