Unbelievably tender salmon glazed with a garlic soy and sweet chili sauce and cooked under the broiler. Thai Sweet Chili Salmon Broiling salmon is quickly becoming one of my favorite ways of cooking it. Who knew placing salmon under the broiler would produce perfectly cooked salmon in minutes. In addition, it makes the skin unbelievably charred and the inside moist and tender.

For this recipe, we will be glazing the salmon with a quick 3 ingredient marinade which is simply a mixture garlic, soy sauce, and sweet chili sauce. The sweet chili sauce can be found at your local supermarket near the soy sauces. It’s perfectly sweet, salty and sticky and the addition of garlic and soy sauce make it the perfect glaze for salmon.

To begin, simply combine the minced garlic, soy sauce, and sweet chili sauce in a large bowl or zip-lock bag. Marinate the salmon in the fridge for 30 minutes to 1 hour then transfer to a baking dish and cook under the broiler for 6-10 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through, depending on the thickness of your salmon. Serve with rice, steam veggies or noodles! Thai Sweet Chili Salmon

  1. I made this for iftar today and it was so yummy. I added some sesame seeds on top to make it look more photogenic 😉.

I recently started to follow you on Instagram and love all your recipes. Thank you for sharing all these great recipes.

  2. This rEcipe was delicious, i used ~1.5 garlic cloves (one big and one small) but i’ll opt foR two big cloves next time. Really great recipe, i kept thinking to mYself “I can’t believe how easy this was to make and how delicious it was!!” I marinated the salmon for ~35-40mIns, & cooked it For 7-8mins in the broiler (on the “high” settiNg, not low) and it was fully cooked through but still moist. I will be cooking this AGAIN as often as i can in the future. Thanks for the reCipe! 10/10!

  3. This sounds absolutely delicious! I’ve never had much experience with cooking fish. I like most seafood, but my husband doesn’t eat any seafood really so it’s almost never in the house.
How do you know 100% that the salmon is cooked thoroughly?

    1. Thanks, Victoria. I would say salmon is one of the most liked seafood because it doesn’t have a fishy odor like most other types of seafood. Just like steak, people prefer their salmon done differently. Some prefer their salmon slightly undercooked, while others like it well done. It is completely cooked when the meat is opaque (solid pink) through the center. I personally don’t like to overcook it so it’s moist and tender. I cooked it for just 7 minutes under the broiler. Hope that helps! 🙂

    2. Victoria, use two forks to part the FLESH and ‘peek’ in. You will see if is still mostly raw. It will cook a little afyer you pull it, so a TINY bit of dark pink is okay.
