To make keto waffles you will need:

  • Eggs
  • Almond flour (can sub 1:4 ratio, 2 tbsp coconut flour)
  • Cream cheese (can sub with heavy whipping cream)
  • Butter
  • Sweetener (Erythritol, Swerve or MunkFruit sweetener)

Keto Maple Syrup:

Keto maple syrup is a little tricky to find because most “sugar-free” maple syrups contain hidden sugars. This Maple Syrup is the only brand we recommend (not sponsored!). It’s rich and thick and perfectly sweetened with natural sweeteners and is by far the best maple syrup we’ve found.

  1. These are great! Made breakfast for dinner and used my Mickey Mouse shaped waffle maker and it made 7. My husband even loved them! Heated the leftovers in the toaster this morning and they were still pretty good. Thanks!

  2. Yay! Thank you for this keto waffle recipe. I have been missing waffles since I started a keto diet. This recipe is quite good. It smells exactly like waffles as it cooks, the taste and texture have a hint of almond flour, but it’s minimal. Once you top your keto waffle (I like S/F Whipped Topping and a small handful of berries on mine) you cannot tell the difference at all.

  3. Very good! Satisfied my urge for waffles. I made one mistake and decided there should be salt in the recipe. Nope – should have followed it exactly.

  4. I’m not strict keto. I’m diabetic well controlled with a low carb diet. I altered this recipe with 15 raspberries pureed with 1 1/2 tblsp of Too Good berry greek yogurt plus 1 tblsp of coconut flour to thicken up. These were pretty great.

  5. This recipe was good, better than others I have tried. Definitely will make again.

  6. Made these yesterday for my family and AMAZING!!!! So happy we are living the Keto LIFE! Thank you for this amazing recipe!

  7. Has anyone tried freezing these waffles? I made a half recipe for a weekend breakfast, but I’d love to try making a full recipe and saving the extras for a weekday breakfast.

    1. I have frozen these to eat throughout the week. I feel like they freeze beautifully, but you will want to heat them up in a toaster or toaster oven. Of course they are better when fresh made but heated in the toaster oven until the edges are slightly crisp is a very close second! And while I agree the ChocZero syrup is good, to me I much prefer the sugar free Mrs. Butterworths. I find it’s much thicker and richer tasting, without the ‘sliminess’ found in other sf products.

    2. Can you make these ahead of time and freeze? If so how long will they be good for when freezing

      1. You can make them ahead of time and they will last in the freezer for up to 3-4 months.

  8. This is definitely the best waffle recipe. I was skeptical as batter seems thin but it is perfect. Not eggy at all. I used half cream cheese half whipping cream because thats was handy.

  9. OMG! Just tried this recipe. Added a tsp maple extract because, no syrup. Cut the erythritol to 1 1/2 Tbls to suit me, no yuck cooling or aftertaste. These are SO GOOD. Taste like regular waffles. Will be a regular for me. I filled the waffle iron each time and they were beautiful. Granular & gritty ? You did something way wrong !

    1. Taste eggy, but they did look like flour waffles. Not terrible, but I don’t think I’ll make this again.

  10. These are perfect! I use a little less almond flour (like a Tbs less) and make up the difference with psyllium husk powder. And I use half monkfruit sweetener and half brown swerve. They are delicious!

  11. These were wonderful, I added bacon bits to it. Wow, with sugar free maple syrup, this is a keeper!

  12. The ingredients list Keto Maple Syrup. The instructions say put all the ingredients in a blender. Even the syrup?

  13. I don’t ever comment on recipes but wanted to say these were delicious! If you haven’t made them yet then do it!!! I halved the recipe and bnb used my mini dash and it made 4. I added some lilys to the last 2. I’m just happy I had 2 to go with syrup since I ate 2 as soon as they came out cause they were so light and fluffy!! Made them last night and about to go make them for breakfast to go with my coffee. Yummy!

  14. These were delicious and super easy! I have been on Leto for over 2 years now and a lot of times, keto-fied things rarely taste like the original. These might be even better than regular waffles, in my opinion! Thanks for creating a recipe to satisfy my carb craving!

    1. I used the dash mini waffle maker. I wonder what the net carbs are for the dash size waffle which is much smaller than the waffle maker in the photo.

      1. Do you use all the egg or just the ehites

  15. Delicious! I sifted my almond flour first and mixed everything but the egg whites with a whisk. I also replaced half of the monk fruit sweetener with swerve brown. I then folded in beaten egg whites and blueberries. They were so fluffy and flavorful! I wasn’t expecting keto waffles to taste so good. Thanks for the great recipe!

  16. I love the almond flour version, but what does “ Almond flour (can sub 1:4 ratio, 2 tbsp coconut flour)” mean?
    1. You can replace 1/4 of the almond flour with 2tbsp of coconut flour, or
    2. You can replace *all* of the almond flour with just 2tbsp of coconut flour?

It seems like they’re indicating the second, but that sounds crazy—1.5tsp of flour is enough for a whole waffle?

    1. COCONUT FLOUR is a lot more absorbent than almond flour. Therefore, only a much smaller amount can be used when replacing almond flour.

  17. OMG. I was so in the mood for waffles and this was by far the easiest recipe I found. Excellent! I did not add the sweetener and used 4oz heavy creamy for the cream cheese All in the blender then into hot waffle iron flip a few times until smoke is little to none,. Topped with a few blueberries and sugar free Maple syrup.

  18. best and deliciousssss waffles 😋 the recipe is easy to do !!!! Now my favorite keto waffles ! Tksssss

  19. I’ve tried many keto waffle recipes, this is perfect. No question you would never know they were keto. Texture is as it should be and flavor is wonderful. I actually tasted the raw batter before I baked them cause I did not want to waste my time baking another lousy tasting waffle.

  20. Followed the recipe ,but used the Bullet to blend the ingredients. Very light, crispy. Reminded me of the buckwheat waffles my husband makes. Looking for ingredients that will give these more density.

  21. These are the absolute simplest and most favorite of all the keto recipes I’ve tried thus far! We enjoy them probably a little too often, but wow … nothing like them!

    1. I made these tonight. Did not realize I needed to use a 1:4 ratio for coconut flour, however, they turned out awesome. A trick I’ve learned from my mom is to fluff the eggs before adding anything else. Get that air in there.
I made mine with a mini waffle iron I got for Christmas. Made enough so that my hubby can just grab a couple and a sausage, throw them in the microwave and eat them on the way to work.
They’re beautiful and thick, a little eggy tasting, but aren’t waffles that way anyway?
Wish I could post pictures. They’re so thick and moist.

  22. These are so good. I woke up this morning (on a workday) with a craving for fluffy pancakes or waffles. I found your recipe on google and was skeptical at first. After all– how could these ingredients taste like anything more than a grainy almond meal omelet? But I was so wrong. I think blending the batter is the game changer here. The waffles had a light and fluffy bready texture and a nice traditional flavor. And they literally took just a few moments to make with hardly any clean-up. What a winner. You just gained a subscriber.

  23. You say you can sub heavy whipping cream for cream cheese – how much HWC would you use to make that sub?
    Thanks!

  24. They’re soft, fluffy and crispy on the outside

  25. I made this is morning. They were delicious! I softened the cream cheese with the butter, used regular almond flour and a hand mixer. They were great and easy! Thank you!

  26. Mixed everything using a Ninja blender, but after pouring into the waffle iron they came out chewy and floppy, not crispy at all. I warmed the cream cheese so it would mix easier and not be chunky, but was that my mistake? The batter looked promising but then wouldn’t crisp no matter how long I left it in the waffle iron. Help!

    1. That’s expected tbh since they haven’t used baking powder. I would recommend whipping the egg whites till medium peaks, mix everything else together then combine the egg whites and other mixture by folding not whisking.

      cook and enjoy!

  27. These were really good! I made one batch with the cream cheese, butter, half almond/ half coconut flour W/ monk fruit. They were excellent!

The second batch I made for my daughter who is gluten and dairy free, so I used dairy free heavy whipping cream almond flour (but it was a little runny, so I added a tsp of coconut flour), coconut oil and the monk fruit. They were really good too!

I think next time I’ll add a little salt.

These did not crisp up at all in either of my waffle makers. They were very light and fluffy (until they deflated). I tried cooking them longer than normal, but it didn’t really make a difference, and I was hungry! LOL!

The taste is excellent, a little eggier than my normal recipe, but really good!!! I’ll be saving this recipe.

    Thanks!!!
