Hey peeps! am I over doing it with the pizza? if so, please excuse my pizza obsession. First it was the spinach garlic pizza, then the Brooklyn style pizza, the BBQ pizza, the pita pizza, the Mediterranean pizza, the Cauliflower crust pizza, and now this unbelievably delicious Meatball pizza.
You see, we love pizza around here.. we seriously love it. Maybe a little too much, we have to have it at least once a week. Pizza is warm and comforting and it brings the family together.
We also love meatballs for dinner so today I decided to switch things up a bit and make meatball pizza. It was super easy to make and we all loved it so much. My little 2 year old loved taking the meatballs off and biting into them like that! To make this recipe easier, I used Mama Mancini’s Meatballs. I used turkey meatballs but they also come in other varieties such as beef and chicken. They come pre-cooked so all you have to do is heat them up in the microwave for oven for about 5-7 minutes then enjoy them on pasta, rice, or pizza!
The meatballs are made from 100% meat, whole fresh eggs, Romano cheese, onion, parsley, a pinch of salt and pepper and an exact amount of breadcrumbs. They are formed by hand and lightly browned, just like Anna Mancini made them. Plus, the Slow Cooked Italian Sauce is made from Italian plum tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper and a bay leaf and then is slowly cooked for three hours. Now this amazing family dinner is available to everyone!
- 22 ounces Mama Mancini's frozen meatballs
- 1 12-14 inch pizza crusts
- 1 14 ounce jar pizza sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup olives optional
- preheat oven 500F degrees. Lightly grease a pizza pan with oil, sprinkle about 2 tablespoons flour on the pan.
Place pizza crust on ungreased pizza pan. Spread sauce evenly over crust. Now add add the meatballs, layering evenly. Sprinkle cheese and olives.
- bake until cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust is golden, about 20 minutes.
