Healthy Chocolate Banana Bread

  • 3/4 cup flour white or wheat
  • 1/2 cup Nature's PromiseĀ® oat flour*
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp espresso powder or instant coffee optional
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips dark or semi-sweet, optional
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Nature's PromiseĀ® melted coconut oil
  • 2/3 cup greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup Nature's PromiseĀ® honey
  • 3 medium mashed bananas about 1 cup


  1. Pre-heat oven to 350F. Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan with coconut oil and sprinkle with cocoa powder and flour. Set aside.

  2. In a medium bowl, combine the flours, cocoa powder, espresso powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and chocolate chips. Set aside.

  3. In a large bowl, whisk the egg, vanilla extract, coconut oil, greek yogurt, honey, and bananas. Add the dry ingredients and mix with a spoon until fully incorporated (do not over-mix).

  4. Pour batter into greased loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is crusty and the center is set. Cook for at least 10 minutes before slicing.

Recipe Notes

* To make oat flour: blend fashioned or quick oats in a blender until they resemble flour. Measure oat flour for the recipe after it's blended.
