Spicy pan grilled chicken and avocado tacos topped with a creamy cilantro lime sauce. These tasty tacos are bursting with flavor and are made in under 30 minutes!Chicken and Avocado Tacos with Creamy Cilantro SauceTake tacos to a whole new level with the addition of avocado and my favorite cilantro cream sauce. If you’ve had my popular shrimp tacos, then you’re going to love this chicken version. The chicken and avocado make a delicious pair and complement each other perfectly. The real star of the dish is this flavor-packed cilantro lime sauce. It’s creamy, zesty and makes a delicious addition to the chicken and avocado.

The chicken is seasoned with taco seasoning and garlic. You can use it right after seasoning it or marinate it in the fridge for up to 48 hours. Once you’re ready to cook the chicken, simply cook it on the stove-top in a few teaspoons of oil. And because the chicken is cut into small bite size pieces, it will absorb all the flavor and chicken will cook in under 15 minutes!

  1. Simple and sooo good! My son loves it. I’m not a fan of cumin so I left that out but it still came out really good! This is a keeper!

  2. Loved this recipe. The only thing I did differently is that I baked it on convection at 425, less work and mess. It was really good! I’ll definitely make this one again!

  6. Super flavourful!! The whole family loved these tacos! Thanks for sharing 😃

  7. These are REALLY REALLY good! I used ground turkey instead of chicken and it worked really well! This recipe is 100% replacing my old taco night of hard shells and store bought seasoning.

  8. Liked the seasoning and texture. Did not make the sauce and instead made guacamole. Not too spicy- just perfect!

  9. I made this last night except I used skirt steak and it was amazing!!!! I will definitely try this with chicken..real soon. I made cilantro lime rice with black beans as a side. I even put the sauce on the rice and beans…it was that good!

  10. Better than delicious. They tasted almost like fajitas. Best dinner we’ve had since Covid- 19 pandemic started!

  11. This was very good. Enjoyed the chicken, doubled the marinade as my pieces were not as coated as in the picture. The crema I just was not crazy about, unlike others who love it. It lacked flavor and was too thick. Prefer a creamy crema that can be drizzled on. This was more like flavored sour cream. Like others, wanted something crunchy added. Bought a bag of coleslaw, blended a dollop of the crema to coat. Also served with pico de gallo and Queso Fresco cheese. Will make again minus the crema.

    1. Love this recipe! Have made it several times already. Love the Crema but I love Cilantro and Lime!!
Comes together pretty quick for a yummy meal.Making it again tomorrow.

  12. I ❤️❤️❤️ this recipe! It is a great lighter version of the taco. My only dilemma… when my husband and I have this for dinner, we only have the tacos. What sides have others made to go with these yummy chicken tacos? I’m afraid of over powering the taste.

    1. I’ve made these so many times…love it! We usually make some black beans or refried beans as a side to go with it. Also, homemade guac and chips. You could add Mexican rice as a side too.

  13. My family loved this recipe. My husband told me he hopes we have this again soon. My family is not big on avocado, so I left this off. For toppings we also used fresh diced jalapeno and salsa.

  14. Made these tonight for my husband and fussy teenager. Absolutely delicious! Even the fussy one had seconds.x

  15. Absolutely love love love these tacos. Idid add a little shredded lettuce. Super easy and fast. Even my boyfriend said they were awesome And I thought he would turn his nose up. He’s a meat and potatoes man. Only disappointment was they were gone so FAST! Lol

  16. Hi! I’m a new blogger, and I’m currently writing up a blog post of all of my go-to recipes and this is a recipe I’ve been making for about a year now and absolutely LOVE. I use the sauce on everything! Would you be okay with me featuring this link in my blog? 🙂
