Super fudgy and dense cocoa brownies are gooey on the inside, have a crinkly top, and are made with just 6 ingredients in under 30 minutes! This easy recipe makes the BEST brownies and is the only brownie recipe you will ever need.
I’ve got a super-easy yet DELICIOUS fudgy brownie recipe for you today. Brownies can’t get any fudgier or easier to make than this folks!
These brownies are fudgy, dense, rich, and super chocolate and with just a few basic ingredients and 30 minutes of your time, you’ve got yourself a batch of brownies that is out of this world!
They’re so chocolaty and delicious my only worry is eating the whole batch right out of the oven…
The super fudgy interior along with the crispy crinkle top is a combo made in heaven and will become your new favorite brownies!
A few years back I was hooked on boxed brownie mix and to be honest I thought they were “alright”. I mainly used the mix because it’s very easy to use because the thought of making brownies from scratch terrified me. Turns out, it’s not hard at all!
It may take any extra step making it from scratch but I swear it tastes 1 billion times better and once you try it you will NEVER EVER go back to brownie mix again!
Like I said, these brownies are simple and easy to make. The entire brownie mixture will be made in the pot or bowl you decide to melt your butter.
To save yourself time and effort, melt the butter in the same bowl that you will be mixing the brownie mix in. I like to use a glass microwave-safe mixing bowl so I can go right in to add the rest of the ingredients after melting the butter.
After melting the butter add the sugar and cocoa and stir until fully combined. Then add the eggs, vanilla, flour, and salt; mix and you’re done!
If you like you can now add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips, nuts, m&m’s, marshmallows, Reese’s or whatever your heart desires!
TIP FOR MAKING THE BEST FUDGE BROWNIES
Don’t overmix the batter. Overmixing the batter will allow air to get trapped in the batter and will result in cakey brownies.
Don’t overbake the brownies. If you are looking for fudgy brownies then remove them from the oven when the sides have begun to shrink away from the sides of the pan but the center is still gooey.
Cool before cutting. As hard as it may be, resist the urge to cut the brownies right out of the oven. Instead, cool them to room temperature or place them in the fridge to cool for at least an hour before cutting into them. This extra step will result in perfect professional cuts.
If you’re like me and you love CHOCOLATE, then do yourself a favor and chop up 4 oz of baking chocolate and stir them into the batter. This will take the brownies (which are already AMAZING) to the next level and make them EVEN BETTER.
Easy One Bowl Fudgy Cocoa Brownies

Love this recipe… indeed gooey and not the usual cakey brownie. Thanks for sharing! I tried this recipe 2 different ways. One is to stick to your baking time and the other i had actually overbaked with reduce sugar but both are still good!
Oh. My. Stars.
These brownies are light, airy on the edges and fudgey-center! Perfect!
Our additions were white chocolate chips (ghiradelli), Hershey chocolate bar broken in chunks, and a swirl of melted peanut butter. My batter was on the thick side.
My pan was a glass 8×8 and so greased it with coconut oil (refined and no smell of the coconut is present in the kind I have). It cooked at 325 degree f for probably 25 minutes. (Cooked till an inch from the edge was done so when a toothpick was inserted it came out clean).
Would totally keep this recipe in my go-to stash.
Taste is awesome but somehow mine came out cakey and dry.. When I put in the flour I missed it just enough to blend it in. The batter was extremely thick, is it supposed to be really thick? I was worried it was going to turn into dough… I only cooked for 20 minutes and that was too long.
Great easy recipe! I used this to make brownies in a waffle iron. They came out chewy and delicious. Iโll use it again to make normal brownies for sure.
Fudgey brownies should not rise in the oven, they donโt need a leavener. This recipe is not dry. I donโt understand how you could get dry brownies from this recipe if you use all of the ingredients. Honestly this is a pretty basic fudgey brownie recipe. Itโs similar to others Iโve used. I donโt get the negative comments at all.
Excellent recipe! And easy to make. This is my go to brownie recipe.
Oh my – just delicious beyond belief! Iโve never done the hour in the fridge part but that makes for a wonderful crisp top.
As a family we always bake, and cook from scratch so happy I was out of some of the usual ingredients as this is now my go to !
Thanks so much for sharing- one happy lockdown family ๐
Made ’em. Loved ’em. They had to bake nearly 10 minutes longer than the recipe suggests. But the end result was excellent.
I made this recipe tonight. They turned out perfect…so easy to make! Thanks for sharing this recipe.
I tried to make it then it turned out more like a cake base than brownies… not sure what I did wrong.
These are pretty good not gonna lie. I didnโt have my normal box mix so I resorted to this. The batter was really thick and I was worried when there was no baking powder added. My batter came out more dense than normal but I added a tablespoon of oil and it helped a little. The brownies were more dense than usual, but if u want to fix it then just add some baking powder. They didnโt stick to the pan at all which I normally have a big problem. They are chocolatey and gooey. I cooked them for 16 minutes rotating sides halfway.
I love this recipe! I am 11 years old and not very experienced but I made this and my whole family loved it! I added a tablespoon of vegetable oil and they turned out amazing. Thank you so much, I will never use a box mix again!
Emaan, I have a daughter your ages who loves baking and this is one of her favorites as well! Keep on baking and thanks for stopping by! ๐
Read good and bad about this recipe. I searched for a homemade brownie recipe for a while . This one sounded the best . Turned out perfect. I did twice the recipe a little . I used just under a cup of sugar, almost a cup of all purpose flour and 1/2 tsp baking powder.
Loved it! Made it with my 10 year old who is learning essential life skills ๐. The family gave it 4.5-4.9 stars, added little bit of chocolate chips and marshmallows on top at the end along with a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
Yummy, marshmallows sound like a delicious addition!
OH MY GOD, JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL. Was Kim shook or was she shook, because Jesus it shook me to the core. Were these brownies divine or were they delicious I can’t tell. One very very happy Kardashian. And to those leaving bad reviews hunny FOLLOW THE RECIPE it’s not hard. God bless, God save and God help. OKURRRR
Just made these divine brownies and I must say they were divine, gimme delicious you’ve done it again, you’ve left me speechless……. 10/10 reccommend if you follow the recipe.
First off, when I saw the recipe had NO baking soda, baking powder or any Levander I freaked it almost didnโt make the recipe. iโm glad I did though I just added a quarter of a teaspoon of baking powder and cooked them for 25 minutes and I was in LOVE !
its brownies ๐
it won’t rise and yes it will be nice and hard and crispy on top and gooey inside TYE BEST ;P
I made these im also an experienced baker. Have been baking since i was 16 years old am now 61 years old. I bake everything from scratch. And all my family and friends ALWAYS request that i bake their favorite birthday cake cookies or just thier favorite desert. And these brownies are Bomb!!! Simply put the Best brownie recipe made simple. I will use this recipe going forward they simple to made and delicious to eat. Thank you for sharing this recipe.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I’m so glad you approve!! <3
This came out really good and gooey, my only complain is that they are just a tad too sweet for my taste, I’ll lower the amount of sugar next time I make them. Any tips on how to get that crunchy top? Mine didn’t have it
Sister please give the ingredients in grams????
I added only 1/2 cup chocolate chips
because I was afraid the brownies would fall apart.. The first 15 minutes of baking I had my concerns because the brownies never rose. After 22 minutes baking time though I pulled the glass pan from the oven, let them cool for 45 minutes. They were fudgy, chocolate deliciousness! Dead simple to make!
Rate the recipe. I added 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. They looked a little bit insipid while they were cooking and I started to panic but they turned out great. I took them out the oven at around 18 minutes and they were delicious! Really gooey and chocolatey, not too sweet either ! Thanks
This was the most amazing recipe of any recipe of anything! I am not a Baker and they turned out perfect. The notes added were super helpful. Too bad I can never make them again since I shamefully ate the whole pan in two days hahaha
Can you substitute almond flour if I donโt have regular flour?
I’m not sure how it would work with this recipe but we do have a brownie recipe that uses almond flour here: https://gimmedelicious.com/healthier-brownies
Should I add a teaspoon of baking soda/powder? I am worried these wonโt rise properly.
This recipe is pure trash. I am an experienced baker and this was a total waste of my ingredients and time. I cooked them for under 2t minutes and it was pure dry rubber.
*15 minutes
thatโs … your fault lol. you clearly did something wrong.
Hush haters lol…I donโt know how anybody is getting these wrong! These are SOOOO good! Seriously, the real deal. I think everyone coming out with cakey or dry brownies must be over measuring their flour or ignoring the basics of brownies and neglecting to check on them. There is no such thing as a prescribed time to cook because (& yo, we all know this by now) everyoneโs oven has a personality or altitude is a bit different. Mine cooks fast, so I just cut the time down a bit & check them. If you measure correctly and check on these babies , they turn out AMAZING! Easy & delicious. Discovered these in my last pregnancy during a serious chocolate craving & itโs still my go-to years later.
We accidentally cooked it with a full cup of flour, and it was delicious! a little more cakey, but still brownie dense and moist.
I made a second batch exactly as instructed by the recipe in case the first “mistake” batch turned out to be a total fail, and it is yummy too. Just a little more tender.
Honestly, we liked it with the full cup of flour better. 20 minutes at 350, with a cup of white chocolate chips. Yum!
no baking powder? Just putting these in the oven, batter is VERY VERY STICKY, ie: NOT ENOUGH flour…and they were hard to pour into the pan..how can they even rise???????? Have a feeling these will be an epic failure unless u like gooey no rise whatever
just tasted and topped with chopped walnuts. Forgive me, they did rise and look ok, texture is fudgy with the slightly crisp top. Mine baked in about 18 minutes. My taste verdict? Found them a wee bit TOO sweet if u can believe that..and I am a certifiable chocoholic. I used the 1/2 c. cocoa powder, 2/3 c. granulated sugar, 2 tsp vanilla and threw in a big handful of mini Hershey’s choc chips…not sure if the vanilla was a bit overkill or the one cup of sugar? Next time I will try them with less sugar. Anyway they were fine, just a tad too rich. A very easy to make treat and kids can help with this, they love to mix batter and top cakes!
I have now baked and tasted…..they did rise OK and had the nice, crisp top, quite fudgy. I added chopped walnuts on top. My one criticism is they were TOO sweet if u can believe that…maybe too much vanilla or too much sugar????? I added in a big handful of Hershey’s mini choc chips and lined the pan with parchment for easy cutting and cleaning. I will try them again with less sugar…here’s an idea – serve for company with fresh raspberries around them and some freshly whipped cream, not too sweet to temper the richness of the brownies. Easy to make, a good recipe for kids to help with.
I misread the recipe and put 1/2 of sugar instead of a cup and they were really good. I canโt imagine how great they will be next time I actually follow the recipe
Best brownies ever! They were super easy to make as well & my kids loved them!
These brownies are amazing! My husband, children and I love to make these! But when you are baking, I add a couple more minutes to the time in the oven. Great brownies overall!
Iโm sad to report that these didnโt turn out well. I followed your instructions to a T. I baked them for only 15 mins (so not sure how your time recommended 20-22,) unless you add other items like chocolate chips or Reeseโs. Perhaps you should specify that. My oven temperature is also calibrated. Even at 15 mins, these were super dry…I wish I got the same delicious result as others who have commented. Iโm a professional recipe developer, so I may try these again as I feel it needs more than one test.
Iโve made these twice and they were great both times. I used peanut butter chocolate chips…OMG, AMAZING. We added marshmallows the other time and those were good, but peanut butter chips was the clear winner.
I followed the directions and added several mini chocolate chips. I then added a few teaspoons of peanut butter on the top and swirled thru the mixture. I cooked them in a 9×13 glass pan and theyโd were probably the BEST homemade brownies Iโve ever made!
Just made these today. If you follow the recipe exactly as said you will have the best every brownies. They are so delicious, crunchy on top, and gooey in the middle. I hardly every rate recipes but I had to on this one. I added 1/2 cup of mini semi chocolate chips, and 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips. I just happen to have them and WOW they are awesome.
They were great! The were soft on the inside, but had a crunchy top. Wonderful flavor, my family loves them.
This is Dad! All I have to say is, after making these yummy brownies, I’m the favorite one! ๐
Iโve made these three times now and they keep coming out perfectly moist and yummy!
These turned out amazing! They werenโt quite as crisp on top as I expected, but were still gooey and beyond delicious! Theyโre also surprisingly filling, too. Thanks for sharing this recipe!
Quick, easy and delicious. This recipe is a close second to the ease of box mix, but they cook much faster. Will be saving this recipe for the future!
I’m not sure what went wrong. How long did you bake the brownies?
I baked them for 20 minutes
I am from Cape Town SA
Made the Brownies for the first time!!
They were Awesome and my grand children loved them as well as Mom and Dad.
Thank you for an amazingly easy recipe.
That’s my kind of recipe๐
So happy to see we have readers all the way from South Africa! thanks for taking the time to leave a review, Collete. I’m glad your family enjoyed the brownies <3
These weren’t great by ANY means. Maybe with some chocolate chips there would be more moisture…
Zero crisp outside. Zero gooey fudgey inside.
They were dense, thats for sure. Kind of like cake. And dry.
I did not overmix. I did not overbake. Infact I under baked at 18min.
I highly suggest looking elsewhere for a “dense, fudgy brownie”.
Itโs really important with brownies not to put everything in the bowl at once. Mix the butter and the sugar first, then add the eggs and vanilla. After that at the cocoa powder and mix that completely, then finally add the flour at the end. also the crinkly top comes from oil, not from butter so if you want the crinkly top itโs important that you use an oil based brownie recipe. You can add oil to this one for some crinkly top and extra fudginess if you desire.
I made these about ten days ago and loved them! DH asked for them again! Making again tonight! And will keep this recipe handy (.of course at this rate I may be able to memorize the recipe!) Many thanks for sharing.
I made them rhet turned out dry and cakey hated it
You must have over-whipped them or over baked them. Try under-baking them next time!
Slightly crispy outside, moist and chewy inside. We both liked them very much! Will definitely make again! Thanks for sharing!
SO happy you enjoyed them! <3
This works great! try it, i divided everything by 4 but it still makes A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So delicious!!!! Very simplE process and ingredients. Just what i was looking for, thanks a Ton!!!
It may be because I used an 8ร8 Pyrex dish, mixed in semisweet chips and didn’t wait long enough…but I ended up with the world’s BEST lava cake! Next time I have COMPANy, I can’t wait to serve it up hot, dusted with powdered sugar. Thank you for sharing this, my dad and I loved it. ๐
Lava brownies are the best!!
Happy you enjoyed them, Tiffany <3
THESE ARE SIMPLY AMAZING.
my caps lock is not on but thats okay… i decided to treat the brownies as a molten lava cake straight out of the oven paired with icecream, so amazing. the next day these brownies were even better
thank you for the recipe
Yum, molten lava cake brownies sound amazing!!
I messed around with the recipe a littleโless sugar, added espresso powder, baked almost 30 minutes instead of 22. I did add a handful of chocolate chips as suggested. They turned out great, and not too cakey even though I baked them extraโkind of fluffy? Weird to say for a brownie but they were delicious. Thanks for the recipe!!
SO good but i did cook them 5 minutes longer than stated!
Idont usually like chewy/fudgey browines but yhese are to die for
I did everything perfectly and even baked for 20 min idk how they still became smooth and spongey ๐
Hello i tried to baked this and the results was so good.
My family like it and ofcourse me to
Thanks for the good recipe.
You are welcome, Kei! ๐
wE LOVE THIS RECIPE AND i MAKE IT REGULARLY FOR MY HUSBAND AND KIDS. i USUALLY DOUBLE IT AND ADD PEANUT BUTTER CHIPS. Only one thing. Whether I double the recipe or not, it takes about 40 minutes to fully cook, not the 20 mentioned in the recipe.
(sorry for the all caps – my caps lock is NOt on, but that doesn’t seem to be helping on this site!)
I’m not sure what went wrong, Janice but these r fudgy brownies and are not expected to rise. Please consider re-making them before leaving a 1-star review. Thanks for stopping by!
These brownies are awesome
These brownies are awesome
Hi, just came across your recipe online. I would like to know if parchment paper would work instead of foil to line the pan? Please reply soon. I really want to try this recipe.
Thank you, Debbie
Sorry I just saw this post. Yes, parchment paper works great too! ๐
Made these with my toddler yesterday. I specifically looked for a simple and easy recipe for the OCCASIOn and one that used ingredients i already had on hand. They turned out so much better than i could have expected! Super delicious and so rich and fudgy. My husband even said they were the best HE’S ever had (and he’s picky). I plan on making them again tomorrow to bring to a work event! My only suggestion is that when I make them again, I’m going to put in a little less sugar, maybe a cup instead of a cup and a quarter.
I’m flattered your family enjoyed the brownies! <3
I sometimes play around with this recipe. I’ve tried it with egg substitute (1tbsp ground flax; 3tbsp water), with coconut oil instead of butter. Sometimes I play with flour ratios (usually I do 1/4cup corn flour;1/4 All purpose flour). I even sometimes reduce sugar by half. Honestly they all turn out well.
This time, I played with the egg white, beating them to stiff peaks before folding them in. I’m hoping to make them more chewy that way.
It’s a quick sugar fix recipe but also so easy that you can pretty much do any substitute and it turns out well.
Thanks for the detailed feedback, Jim!
SO Good omg. these brownies were super easy to make and are the perfect amount of fudgey-ness! Definitely will be making these again ๐
My husband and I love this recipe! This makes yummy brownies everytime.
These brownies are awesome! I’ve made them several times and they Are always a hit. I use dark CHOCOLATe and milk chocolate coco and I add a drizzle of molasses. Trust me it make the brownies go from great to divine.
these brownies are delicious! I loved how there weren’t too many ingredients but the brownies were divine! they’re the perfect amount of chewy and soft and they’re now my go-to brownie recipe. I’ve tried a lot of recipes before and these are by far the best! I did end up cooking them for about 5-10 extra minutes and they turned out great. I would highly recommend trying these out!
These brownies were too amazing! ! Bless the creator! I also added a quarter of baking powder to add on to the softness. My family prefers them fluffy as well.
These brownies are amazing. I was looking for a quick easy snack for my late night sweet tooth and this delivered. I doubled the recipe to make enough for a 9×13 pan. This recipe is way better than store mix.
Delicious!! Everyone loved it. Thank you ๐
You are welcome!! <3
Sounds just what i want, can i make in advance! Ie how long cou,d they keepif yoy can resust ๐ ir do they need to be eaten steaight away
Is it okay if I leave out the vanilla or can I substitute with honey ? Just don’t have any vanilla handy ๐ข
You can skip it!
this is probaly the best thing i’ve ever used
Can we preheat at 180ยฐ? ??????
They we we delicious, but are they SUPposed to be runny in the middle or should I cook longer?did cook 22mins.
They will set as they cool! if you’d like you can always bake them longer but we like them on the gooey side!!
Just made tge recipe for chicken pOt pie abd wanted to tell you its deli ๐
Would be so nice to get this recipe in gramms and milliliters ! thanks !
They are easy to make and delicious. I dont know if they are sUposed to be as Goey as they are but I Love them. WilL definitely make again. They may firm up after i let them fully cool but i am impatient… Oh well. Still amazing
Thank you, thank you so much for this recipe. this has been my go to recipe ever since. it’s so easy and made perfect brownies everytime. everyone in the family loves it. my best friends and their kids also can’t get enough of this, made me bake at least two batches for them everytime we meet up.
So, I plan on makibg thesenwith the coconut flour instead. Is the ratio the same on the floUr?
Made this for my son’s senior snack DAY for tomorrow…took 46 min to bake…definately got my workout stirring 5 BATCHES like other brownie recipes…like how the cocoa didn’t bother my breathing in this recipe like another one I’ve tried in the past!
I MADE THESe last night when I realized i was supposed to bring brownies into office today. These came up fudgy and delicious! Thanks for the easy recipe.
these are great! Deep chocolate flavor, moist, and aesthetically pleasing.
EASY AND DELICIOUS
My son had a sweet tooth at 10pm. I GOOGLEd fast BROWNIE recipe and viola!!
I followed THe recipe and added chopped pecans. THEy are perfect. He was so happy. Thank you #supermom
These brownies were really good!
one problem that people who are rating them badly may have is OVER-MIXING. when mixing, make sure that you are only mixing just until the white specs of flower are gone. if you are adding chocolate chips, mix only until there are some specs, add chocolate chips, and only mix for 10 seconds more. at first, i was worried that there was hardly any liquid, and the batter was very thick, and usually they are runny, but the result was stunning!!!
I MADE these with Coca SPECIAL DARK CHOCOLATE SYRUP. THEY WERE BITTERSWEET AND DELICIOUS.
Thanks For the easy reCipe.
Future
This was a really good recipe.
I Have made this recipe many times, And i canโt understand the Reviews that saY this didnโt work. Iโve always had great results with this recipe. I usually start checking For doneness around 18 minutes, but generally find it takes 20-22 minutes. The Only Adjustment iโve made is to use Only 1c Sugar. I find that plenty sweet. I even made this once or twice with melted coconut Oil in place of The butter when i was out and it still turned Out Great!
i just made these and it looked like 1.5 cups of butter and cocoa so my brownies never set up. Should be one cup of butter and 1 cup of cocoa? NOw looking at it, the recipe may be different amounts. Put vanilla ice cream over it and ate it anyway. ๐
I’m sorry about that, Kacy. The recipe calls for 1/2 cup of butter (aka 1 stick) and 1/2 cup cocoa powder. Sometimes the recipe adds the 1 in front of the 1/2 and it looks like 1 1/2 cup. I’ve corrected the recipe box to show the correct number!
my son wanted to bake for the first tIme and found this recipe for him. Wow! Amazing. Adding choColate chips Was the secret ingredient. It made the brownies very fudgey. We loved it. My son was so proud of himself after baking. Such a decadent dessert. We will be making it again. Thank you!!!
I realized about 10 minutes before my dinner guest arrived that i had forgotteN AbOut dessert. I googled quick brownie recipes. The brownies cooked while we ate. These brownies were quick and easy. I Added semi sweet choColate chips. They were delicious!!! I will deFinitly be making these again๐
FuDgey and delicious!
I opted for 1-1/4th cup of sugar, and tossed in about 1/2 cup regular semi-sweEt chocolate Chips and about 1/2 ghirardelli bittersweet chips. Before i put it in the oven, i topped it with a generOus dRizzle of caramel sundae syrup. I ended up having to bake it for 50 minutes instead of 25 (in a pyrex 8×8 pan, no tin foil, only pam spray) but the end result is amazing! PerfecTly gooey in the middle, crispy around the edges, and chewy on the top.
If youre ever feeling indulgent, i HIGHLY recommend specifically the Ghirardelli chIpsโthey really make a difference! While the end result wasnt exactly pretty after i cut it (maybe i didnt wait long enough for it to cool), it was exactly the sort of chOcolate-cravinโ-fixinโ i was needIng. Thanks!
These are delish! I made a batch on a whim one night and they were so good I made them later in the week for a bbq. I’ll never go back to brownie mix again.
Just made these. ABSOLUTELY EASY AND DELICIOUS! I doubled and used 9×13 pan, baked for 28 minutes. They are PERFECT! Nice crust and chewy in the middle. This will be my go-to on chocolate craving days! ๐
Really good, I replaced the vanilla with peppermint extract, and it was amazing. The one thing was it actually took closer to 40 minutes to cook.
I made these the other day and cut them into small, bite sized squares to share with friends. They were a huge hit! My husband loved them too so Iโll be making more soon. I did cut the sugar down to slightly under one cup and it was just right. Perfect one-bowl recipe!
Thanks for the feedback Audra. I love cutting brownies into bite-size squares!
I made these a few nights ago and they’re awesome! I see another batch in the near future happening. I actually used small cupcake tins (2 bite brownie size) it made 24 and I cooked them for 20 minutes total. They turned out really great!
I made these last night and this is now my favourite, go-to brownie recipe! I was using a different recipe but found that it had a lingering bitter-sweet taste which we were not fond of at all. I made a batch of brownies last night using this new recipe and didn’t modify the recipe in any way. For the optional mix-ins, I used a 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and 1/2 cup of walnuts. I was nervous about the texture of the batter as it seemed a little thick before pouring it into the baking pan, but I baked them anyway and they came out perfectly!!!! After letting them cool, I was able to cut them into 16 squares without any issues with them crumbling. Today, day two, they are even better!!! They are crunchy on top and moist/chewy on the inside (but not too chewy). Layla, thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe with us. It is a winner and my search for the perfect brownie recipe is now over!!!
These are fabulous!!!! I make these and blondies all the time, in a double batch Rave reviews all the time. My patients love them, all the other businesses in my building love them, my lawn guy,, my mail people, the UPS guy….the people at the banks love me too ๐
I made double batches and brought them over to a friend’s family. They had lost their grandfather and had people constantly in and out of the house, then his sister had to go into the hospital. These, along with casseroles, were good comfort food and easy to just pick up and nibble on for a crowd.
I have also started experimenting….I am now making Adult Apertif Cocktail Creations….I could not find my vanilla extract last night, so I put in Godiva Chocolate Liquer instead….it smelled soooo good….tonight I tried Frangelico and Chambord….Kahlua is next, and Bailey’s….and I bought a bunch more airline bottle size spirits to try…if they come out good, will sell them….I can wrap them up individually in bite size pieces, put an assortment in a pretty martini glass, cover it with tulle, and sell it as a hostess gift or an indulgence gift,….
Happy Baking all!!!!
Would it be alright to use grapeseed oil or peanut oil?
I haven’t tried with grape-seed or peanut oil.
I made these last night at 10 pm while craving chocolate of course! Used 1 cup of sugar and one cup walnuts Very very very easy to make. I want to try and make again but maybe with only one egg. Anyone try that yet? I didn’t find these to be a chewy as I’d want. They came out kinda crumbly. Even today. But still VERY DELISH!
These bad boys are currently baking away in my oven…made these for my sister’s belated birthday treat. Cant wait to taste these!
Tried for the first time today and altho I typically follow a first timer to the letter this time I was craving mocha……so I replaced 1 Tb of the cocoa with espresso powder and kept the rest of the measurements exact.
Added choc chips and marshmallows on the top prior to baking- they baked for 35-40 min til just set – cut great when cooled.
Treats for the mechanics and our waste pickup crew – that way I am not tempted to hoard them ๐
Totally amazing.
Used only 1 cup sugar,
But these were absolutely to die for.
Keeping this recipe for the next time I’m craving chocolate at 2am. Don’t mind a 25 min wait!
Thanks for this!
This is now my family’s favorite brownie recipe. We love the density and moistness of it. We have sprinkled the mixture with baking powder while still in bowl. It came out the exact same with the brownies now melting in your mouth. It is most wonderful!
I’ve made these twice now. Once in an 8×8 and today in a 9×13. The 8×8 was way too thick and though they were moist and fudge like, they fell apart way to easily. In the 9×13 they were better, but still seem to fall apart. I’m following the directions to the letter. Any suggestions? By the way, they do have a great tast, just need to tweak the recipe somehow to make them stick together when cut.
Maybe it has to do with when you are melting your sugar and coco. The longer and at a higher temp the mixture is thicker. Not as high of temp results in a thinner batter. Hope this helps. ๐
This is my go to brownie recipe! I always get rave reviews when I share them! I have always made them exactly as directed until a week or so ago. I was out of granulated sugar and substituted with light brown sugar….omg I didn’t think these brownies could get better, but they did! Thanks for sharing this recipe…with either sugar, they are fab!!
These were easy, but for my taste there was too much sugar. I’ll try the recipe again, but I’ll cut the sugar and increase the coco powder.
The only comments here are about how they look. I actually tried it. Nice 8×8 cake recipe.
I’ll salvage them with frosting.
Oh talk about delicious! Those brownies look magical, so chocolatey and fudgy – just the way a brownie should be!
The magic word is one bowl! I always love an easy & tasty recipe!
These look fabulous! So chewy and fudgy…. pinning ๐
Thanks for pinning, Medha!
Hello Layla,
Thank you so much for this recipe, i am actually going to make your cookie brownie and requried the brownie recipe for it. When you say “this recipe doubles well in a 9/13 pan”, do you mean i should double the recipe if i want to use a 9/13 pan or just use the same recipe and pour it in a 9×13 pan instead of the 8×8?? thank you
You would have to make twice the batter and pour it into the 9×13 pan.
