Chicken breasts cooked in a creamy garlic parmesan cream sauce. This quick and flavorful one skillet 20-minute dish is great on with pasta or a side of veggies!
Garlic and parmesan are a match made in heaven. I’m addicted to garlic. I love the smell and flavor of garlic simmering in olive oil or butter. There really is no better aroma or flavor. Add parmesan to the fragrant garlic and you’ve got yourself a flavor combo that is out of this world.
This quick and tasty garlic and parmesan chicken is super easy to make so it’s great for busy weeknights when you just need to whip up something fast. It’s all made in one pan in under 20 minutes. The chicken is first cooked in olive oil and seasoned with just salt and pepper. After the chicken is cooked through, remove it from the pan and add some minced garlic to the same pan. Cook the garlic for no more than 30 seconds just to until it begins to turn golden.
The next step is adding the cream, Italian seasoning, and parmesan cheese. I used light cream but heavy cream will work too! If you’re a fan of spinach like we are, toss in a cup of chopped spinach at this point! Simmer the sauce for a few minutes then return the chicken to the pan. Enjoy this creamy chicken on pasta or with a side of veggies!
- 4 small-medium chicken breasts or 2 large halved
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3-4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 cup light cream or heavy cream
- 1 tablespoons Italian seasoning or oregano
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese grated
- 1 cup spinach chopped (optional)
- Season chicken with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large heavy skillet or pan. Add chicken to the pan and cook for 5-6 minute per side or until the outside is golden and the chicken is cooked through (cooking times will vary depending on the thickness of the chicken breasts).
- Remove chicken from the pan, reduce heat to low-medium, and add garlic; stir for 30 seconds. Add the cream, Italian seasoning, and parmesan cheese. Stir to combine. Stir in 1 cup of chopped spinach if desired. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
- Return chicken to the pan and simmer for another minute then turn off heat. Spoon sauce over chicken. Serve with pasta or veggies.
This is absolutely amazing! I couldn’t get enough of it. Shared it with my mother and sister. No joke. This will be in my recipe book forever more. Only thing is that I added onion and tomatoes because they’re favorites of mine. Lol
Gosto muito de frango
Family all love it! We serve with crispy potatoes and broccoli.
Just wish I knew the calories in each portion.
Just made this a few minutes ago. Turned out great!!! Husband went back for seconds!!

I love this recipe. I added mushrooms and red roasted peppers. I also cut up the chicken in bite size pieces and mixed it in with the sauce. Very delicious.
This was delicious and VERY easy to make. We made it exactly as stated! I would make this if you have not yet. We served it over fettuccine noodles. Will definetely make this one again!

I made just the sauce and it was great!
This is such a great and easy recipe! It’s so easy and delicious that I showed my daughter how to make it, and even she (who cannot boil water — lol) can do it! Question: what do you think about making it in a crock pot? Would it be OK?

The flavor of this dish is very good. The next time I make it, I will cook the chicken for longer so it is more tender
hey thank you for putting this recipe out. i’m 15 and my sister is 13 and this helped us make a dinner for our family because my parents have covid. this meal was delicious, Thank you!
You’re an awesome kid!
Great recipe! But how do you get the sauce to stay white? It eventually turns kinda brown by the time I’m finished. Possibly due to the oil? Do you transfer the chicken to a new pan after you cook the chicken and before you add the cream?

cook the chicken and then take the chicken out of the pan and put it on a plate and then wash the pan and then make your sauce then put chicken back in. the Browing is from the oil. hope this helps. good luck!
How long before I can cook is I’d like to cook it a couple of hours before hand could I do that and I’m doing it for six people
How long before I could make this dish can you make it earlier and I am making for six

I just made this wonderful simple chicken recipe! It was so delicious and I can hardly wait to make it again.
I was wondering if you think adding some fresh mushrooms mihht work here. Not that it needs anything extra. I made it the way the recipe said and I can hardly wait to tuck into the left overs. Thanks so much.
I tried it with fresh mushrooms! It is delicious! Instead of spinach I use broccoli coking both with the chicken! Poured it all over the chicken and a baked potato! YUMMY! Will make it for company! So easy!!
Can this be made and freezed for later?
I don’t recommend feezing creamy sauces as they may split when reheating but it does hold up well in the fridge.

I’m not commenting on the recipes. I’m trying to find out how long this chicken stays okay to eat .. good.. in the fridge.
i can’t find any information regarding this anyplace. Can you help please.
I go with five days as long as i looks and smells fine. The USDA or FDA says a week.

my sauce is curdled. Can I correct it
You would need to use an immersion blender to blend until smooth!
I have made this recipe MANY times. It is one of my go-to’s! Very delcious.

Can’t wait to try this tonight!
Easy recipe to make. I decided to deglaze the pan after cooking the chicken with 1/4 c. chicken stock and reduced to half. I wasnt sure if the cream would be able to loosen the good bits. I think that 1 tablespoon of Italian Seasoning is way too much. It took quite awhile for the dried herbs to soften and it has a very strong tasting. Next time make the dish, I’m going to use 1 teaspoon and add more if needed.
so rich creamy and delicious. I mixed in some ratatouille I had made the night before instead of spinach, used egg noodles and chicken tenders. just wow, and so easy and quick. I loved that I could easily downsize the recipe for 1 or 2.
Make extra sauce,, it’s so good, you’ll want more!!
Can’t wait to make it again!
Five stars! The only thing I did different was made 3x the sauce to add over my pasta and made it a pasta dish. Thank you so much!
Do you happen to have the nutritional chart for this meal?

Could I make this with a bachemel instead of the cream?
Omg! Cooking this tonight, and my mouth is watering, ready for it to be done!! I changed things up a bit.. as i have such a large family.. i made it all on the stove, but poured it over my chicken in a baking dish and popped that in the oven. It toasted the cheese a bit.. mm mmm good!! Lol!!
this is so good pure comfort food and my grand daughter loves it too thank you!
Really nice dish–the whole family enjoyed it.
Amazing recipe! So simple yet so effective. One of mine and my boyfriends favs!
