You need to have quite a few ingredients available to make this One Pan Thanksgiving Dinner. You can start getting the ingredients in advance to ensure that you will have everything you need to prepare the different recipes that are all part of the One Pan Thanksgiving Dinner, such as:

  • Stuffing made from seasoned sourdough bread
  • Buttered and seasoned turkey breast 
  • Seasoned brussels sprouts
  • Halved sweet potatoes with sugar and marshmallows for added sweetness
  • Fresh cranberry sauce consisting of orange juice and orange zest

You will be making each of these components for the One Pan Thanksgiving Dinner, which is why you will need many ingredients to prepare the meal.

How to Make the One Pan Thanksgiving Dinner

Making the One Pan Thanksgiving Dinner is simple and easier than you might imagine. It all starts with preparing the turkey breast. You will need to add butter to it and season it with numerous herbs, including sage and thyme.

After seasoning and preparing the turkey breast, you can start working on the stuffing by cutting sourdough bread into cubes and seasoning it with assorted herbs.

You will need to do the same for each of the other components of this dish, such as the brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes. The next step involves assembling your baking tray by adding each component one-by-one.

Place your stuffing on one side, turkey on top of the stuffing, brussels sprouts on the open space of the tray, and the sweet potatoes on the opposite side of the turkey.

Place your ramekin in the center that will hold the cranberry sauce.

Next, bake for 40 minutes or until the turkey breast is cooked through and the sweet potatoes and brussels sprouts are soft and tender.

At this point, go ahead and mash the sweet potatoes and spread the prepared butter stuffing, and top with marshmallows. 

Remove the foil from the cranberries and return the pan into the oven for another 5-10 minutes or until the marshmallows are melted.

Different Variations of the One Pan Thanksgiving Dinner

Sheet Pan Thanksgiving Dinner

Ingredients 

For the turkey breast

  • 3-4 lb turkey breast
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp chopped mixed herbs (rosemary, thyme and sage)
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • Salt to taste

For the stuffing

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsbp lemon juice
  • 1/2 lb sourdough bread, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp chopped mixed herbs (rosemary, thyme and sage)
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp ground pepper
  • Salt to taste

For the brussels sprouts

  • 1 lb brussel sprouts , trimmed and halved lengthwise
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground pepper, to taste
  • salt to taste

For the sweet potatoes

  • 2 sweet potatoes, halved lengthwise
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 tbsp pecans, chopped
  • 1/4 cup mini marshmallows

For the cranberry sauce

  • 3/4 cup fresh cranberries
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp orange zest
  • 2 tbsp fresh orange juice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions 

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degree F.

For the turkey breast

  • Place aluminum foil on one side of a baking tray like boat shaped.
  • Clean and dry the turkey breast and place it on the prepared aluminum foil.
  • In a bowl combine butter, lemon juice, garlic, herbs, salt and pepper. Spread the butter mixture all over the turkey breast and inside of the turkey as well.
  • Bake the turkey for 20 minutes.
  • After 20 minutes remove the turkey and keep it aside. (Discard the aluminum foil)

For the stuffing

  • In a large bowl crackle the eggs and beat it along with the chicken broth and lemon juice.
  • Add in the cubed sourdough bread, celery, onions, herbs, garlic, pepper and salt. Combine all and keep it aside.

For the brussels sprouts

  • In a separate large bowl add the brussel sprouts, olive oil, garlic, paprika, pepper and salt. Toss them well and keep it aside.

For the sweet potatoes

  • Coat the sweet potatoes with olive oil and keep it ready.
  • In a small bowl combine brown sugar, butter and chopped pecans and keep it aside. 

For the cranberry sauce

  • In an oven proof ramekin bowl combine the cranberries, brown sugar, orange zest, freshly squeezed orange juice and ground cinnamon. Keep aside.

For assembling the baking tray

  • Fill the one side of the tray with the prepared stuffing. Place the turkey on top of the stuffing.
  • Spread the brussel sprouts one layer on the tray.
  • Arrange the sweet potatoes side by side on the other side of the baking tray.
  • Place the ramekin with cranberries in the center of the tray. Close the ramekin with the help of aluminum foil.
  • Bake for 40 minutes, until the turkey internal temperature reaches between 165-170 degrees.
  • Use a fork to mash the sweet potatoes and spread the prepared butter stuffing and  top with marshmallows. Mix the cranberries with a spoon and remove the foil. Bake for another 5-10 minutes until the marshmallows are slightly browned and melted.
  • Slice the turkey and transfer to a plate along with the cranberry sauce, potatoes, brussel sprouts and serve.

Notes

 
  • I have used 1 full tray (21X15) to make this recipe, you can also use two baking trays instead.
  • You can use the gravy packet found in the turkey pack to make the gravy for turkey.
