A few days ago I mentioned how much I’m loving the idea of using vegetarian “meat” in my recipes. My husband who is a meat lover and he seems to enjoy it so much and can’t even tell difference between chicken and “chicken”.
These southwest chicken-free tacos are super easy to make and taste just like chicken without all the mess and fuss. The flavor and texture of the chicken is just like regular chicken except it has a extra hint of flavor.
Today I teamed up with BeyondMeat to bring you the best chicken tacos I have ever tasted. Oh and did I forget to mention that the are vegetarian!?
Okay so I know what your thinking… How it is possible to have vegetarian chicken tacos when being a vegetarian in the complete opposite of eating meat..
Now Ya’ll know I love meat. I make it all the time but when Beyond Meat reach out to me I fell in love with their story and mission. They believe there is a better way to feed the planet. There mission is improving human health, positively impacting climate change, conserving natural resources and respecting animal welfare.
It’s also pretty cool that the investors of BeyondMeat include Bill Gates and Biz Stone & Evan Williams, co-founders of Twitter. Bill Gates believes that BeyondMeat can change the future of meat consumption.
BeyondMeat comes in different flavors of chicken strips and beef crumbles. I made the tacos with the southwest style chicken-free strips which are Grilled with a traditional chipotle-lime blend.
Plus it’s Soy Free – Made with 100% Non-GMO pea protein, Gluten Free, and Kosher.
The texture feels, tastes and acts just like chicken. No wonder the folks at the Today Show could not tell the difference between the BeyondMeat dishes and regular meat.
