Super fudgy and dense cocoa brownies are gooey on the inside, have a crinkly top, and are made with just 6 ingredients in under 30 minutes! This easy recipe makes the BEST brownies and is the only brownie recipe you will ever need.

I’ve got a super-easy yet DELICIOUS fudgy brownie recipe for you today. Brownies can’t get any fudgier or easier to make than this folks!
These brownies are fudgy, dense, rich, and super chocolate and with just a few basic ingredients and 30 minutes of your time, you’ve got yourself a batch of brownies that is out of this world!
They’re so chocolaty and delicious my only worry is eating the whole batch right out of the oven…

The super fudgy interior along with the crispy crinkle top is a combo made in heaven and will become your new favorite brownies!

A few years back I was hooked on boxed brownie mix and to be honest I thought they were “alright”. I mainly used the mix because it’s very easy to use because the thought of making brownies from scratch terrified me. Turns out, it’s not hard at all!
It may take any extra step making it from scratch but I swear it tastes 1 billion times better and once you try it you will NEVER EVER go back to brownie mix again!

Like I said, these brownies are simple and easy to make. The entire brownie mixture will be made in the pot or bowl you decide to melt your butter.

To save yourself time and effort, melt the butter in the same bowl that you will be mixing the brownie mix in. I like to use a glass microwave-safe mixing bowl so I can go right in to add the rest of the ingredients after melting the butter.
After melting the butter add the sugar and cocoa and stir until fully combined. Then add the eggs, vanilla, flour, and salt; mix and you’re done!

If you like you can now add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips, nuts, m&m’s, marshmallows, Reese’s or whatever your heart desires!

TIP FOR MAKING THE BEST FUDGE BROWNIES
Don’t overmix the batter. Overmixing the batter will allow air to get trapped in the batter and will result in cakey brownies.
Don’t overbake the brownies. If you are looking for fudgy brownies then remove them from the oven when the sides have begun to shrink away from the sides of the pan but the center is still gooey.
Cool before cutting. As hard as it may be, resist the urge to cut the brownies right out of the oven. Instead, cool them to room temperature or place them in the fridge to cool for at least an hour before cutting into them. This extra step will result in perfect professional cuts.

If you’re like me and you love CHOCOLATE, then do yourself a favor and chop up 4 oz of baking chocolate and stir them into the batter. This will take the brownies (which are already AMAZING) to the next level and make them EVEN BETTER.

Easy One Bowl Fudgy Cocoa Brownies

Perfect brownies! Easy to make, perfect texture, and very yummy!
Did anyone else’s brownies come out teensy and super underbaked? I followed the directions and I baked them for at least 30 minutes 😩 I was craving brownies so hard
The brownies are perfect! They are easy to make, turn out the perfect texture and are very delicious.
I cut the recipe in half and added a little more flour because the batter was too loose, and the egg was a medium size. These were delicious. Very chocolatey with the ratio of flour to chocolate. Will make these again. Thanks!
Easy, delicious and love the add ins! I was looking for easy brownie recipe for hubby. Thanks!
Adding walnuts and chopped chocolate pieces to this was absolutely incredible. My husband had it with ice cream when it was still warm and gooey and he raved about it. A must try
these brownies turn out flawless every time i make them. im making them for the second time and i forgot to add the vanilla extract
*internally screaming
Easy to follow. The 1x is too thin. Will try 2x next time. Turn out very good.
Thank you so much for this delicious recipe. The flavour is incredible and I was so pleased to get the classic brownie crispiness and inner fudginess.
I initially went to put my batter in an 8×8 tray but it didn’t look like it would fill the pan so I went for the 9×5 loaf tin and baked for around 23 mins.
Will definitely use this recipe again and go for double 😁
Just got this recipe and used it for a base for when I make brownies. I ended up making Orange Brownies and it turned out amazing! Replacing the vanilla extract with half fresh orange and squeezing the juice in gave it a very clean and yummy flavor.
Perfectly fudgy! I didn’t have extra mix-ins, so i imagine they will be even better when i add some next time.
I doubled the recipe – glass 9×13 w/ parchment paper and cooked for exactly 25 minutes. Let them cool for probably 20-30 minutes out of the oven. Half baking cocoa and half dutch cocoa.
1/2 cup of flour was perfect – it’s not a cake! Doesn’t need a lot! Just needs to bind the main runny ingredients enough for the fudgy outcome! Thanks for the recipe 🙂
Great recipe. I followed it just as written. Had to make another batch the next day they were so good.
Super easy to make and tastes delicious! mine took 30mins to bake instead of 20min but will definitely be making lots. Love being able to customize the filing with what you like.
Followed the recipe, just baked for 25 minutes instead of 20, and they came out perfectly!
Not good. Recipe is off. Brownies came out so dense and almost like a cake. I even saw the flour and cocoa powder ratio seemed off but thought I would trust the process. was disappointed.
The recipe said not to over mix the batter or the brownies would come out cakie. Maybe try the recipe again.
Very good and chewy. My go to recipe for my grands. Thank you!
Wow!!! I added pecans, used parchment paper, and baked for 25 minutes. These brownies are delicious!
Delicious! I had a craving for chocolate and chewy and I was delighted to have crunchy on the top too! I only had cocoa so I was very pleased to find your recipe. Thank you. I baked it in my large toaster oven and it needed an extra 7 minutes for me. I let the brownies sit for 20 minutes while I impatiently waited and I was not disappointed. Great recipe thank you!
Ohhh. This brownie recipe is super simple, and absolutely delicious. I don’t even like brownies, that much. Too sweet, too dense, too dry, etc. Thank you for sharing this amazing recipe. I am now a brownie lover.
…my additions were walnuts and cinnamon. 🙂
I loved it and it tasted so good with icing sugar and milk 😍😍😍🥳🥳
It was so good totally i recommend I loved it my family really enjoyed it with icing sugar and milk absolutely love it 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
It was so good totally i recommend I loved it my family really enjoyed it with icing sugar and milk absolutely recommend 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
LOVE this recipe! One problem… I eat too many. Thank you for the great recipe.
Worst brownie recipe. First off never seen 1/4C flour in any cake or brownie mix. These are perfect if you like burnt edges and runny center. Too get the center cooked you have to burn the rest of it. 20 minutes has to be a typo, try 40 minutes to not get sick.
pretty solid recipe i added 1/2 cup chocolate chips and baked for 20 mins. turned out very fugdy. will def make again!
Just ok. They were definitely not what I consider fudgy. I doubled the recipe and followed instructions to a T.
Very good and chewy! My family and I love them. This is my new go to recipe for brownies. Thank you!
Only 1/4 cup flour doesn’t sound like it can be correct.
So these are pretty much warm edible brownie batter with a cooked edge. No complaints, just didn’t expect that. The taste is 10/10. I’ve seen some comments saying to lower the bake temp and cook longer, and that it will allow the middle to get done while still keeping them fudgy. May try it next time. All in all, would make again.
AMAZING brownies. Best I’ve ever made or had. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing! Perfect brownies, tastes awesome, not cake like, I no longer have to buy Duncan Hines boxed! This was the quickest, well worth making recipe by far! I put peanut butter chips, favorite dessert, Ty, Ty, everyone should try this recipe.
I thought something was wrong when i had to bake them for an extra 5 minutes but they ended up turning out great.
The best ooey gooey brownies everrrrrr! I added in a tablespoon of oil and half a cup of chocolate chips. This will definitely be our go to recipe.
I like the balance between theory and practice. This motivates me to keep learning. I can see how this applies in real life.
Needed a quick brownie recipe as a birthday present and this fit my re requirements
After years of struggling to find the right balance of texture and flavor, this recipe has actually redeemed my baking skills in the eyes of my small sons. Thanks so much for sharing this treasure!
These were the BOMB! I put Reese’s pieces on top and couldn’t believe how good! I don’t like very sweet so followed and only put 3/4 cup sugar. Check the recipe with toothpick a few minutes earlier – when it comes out dry or almost dry, take out the brownies. Will make this again!C
Quick, easy, and delicious.
To the melted butter, I added 1/2 C of the oil that separates on the top of my natural, organic peanut butter, along with the liquified peanut butter that poured off of the top with the oil. I increased the flour by 1 T. Baked 18 minutes in a round pan and it was perfect! Gooey, chewy, and packed with flavor. (Reese’s eat your heart out!)
made recipe exactly as stated. Used 8×8 pan, they came out about 1/2″ thick, 18 min in oven, – overcooked, dry, to chocolaty, ready to toss out.
Used milk chocolate chips as my mix in. I used a 9×5 metal loaf pan & they were cooked for 30 minutes total. Came out pretty good, only 4 stars because the cook time was 10 minutes off.
Did anyone use oil instead of butter and it just sat on top of the brownies?
My daughter and I really enjoyed this recipe! I never tried baking brownies from scratch until now and I’ll never go back to box mix! Thank you 🩷
Excellent recipe. Satisfies chocolate cravings far better than a chocolate mug cake.
There is one thing to point out, though. I used a glass pan, so if you are using glass, put an additional 15 minutes of bake time on your timer and it will fix the gooey center/cooked edges.
I did not add any extra stuff, and did vegetable oil instead of butter. They turned out so perfect, that this will now be my go-to easy bake recipe. As a bonus, when completely cooled, they are extra fudgy!
I love baking and have done it a long time. After reading the comments I made some adjustments. I did 325° for 45 minutes (I doubled the recipe) and they came out perfect!
It tasted delicious, but I cooked it for about 30 minutes, and the insides were still partially undercooked, yet the sides were burning a little. Tasted great, though.
So easy and delicious. I added some chocolate chips and they are VERY moist. They might harden up and become less gooey if we let them cool completely. But we are not that patient and we like them this way 🙂 Like another poster, I was curious about no baking soda or powder.
I don’t know… I’ve been baking for 30+ years so I’m not a beginner, I followed the recipe exactly and the edges were almost burnt, while the middle was completely raw. I didn’t want to burn the edges so I just took them out thinking they’d thicken up while they sat in the pan. Nope. Other than the overdone edges, the entire middle was raw. My kids still devoured them, they’ll eat anything chocolatey, but I’m not sure. I’m trying again right now. I doubled the recipe and I’m trying a glass pan. We’ll see how they turn out this time.
Tasty and easy, however after going through the comments I’m thinking it’s probably best to bake these in a metal pan. I did mine in a glass loaf pan and even after following the recipe exactly and 30 minutes bake time, it was not set properly.
Fantastic, easy brownie. Love how they didn’t sink in the middle and end up with raised edges. They were beautiful and even. Fudgy fudgy fudgy. I followed your recipe exactly and did choose to add dark chocolate chips (doubled the batch but only added half the “add ins”). Thank you for sharing.
These brownies are the best! And so easy. For some of my friends, could I use monk fruit sugar instead?
I’ve never rated a recipe before but this one gets one as I’ve been repeatedly using this recipe. Most homemade brownie recipes I’ve tried have been way too chocolate-y to the point it made me sick. This one is perfect. I use a larger pan so I do a double batch and cook for 25 minutes and I get the most perfect thick brownies.
SO GREAT!! Really simple, had everything, whipped them together , actually had parchment paper, and total of 45 minutes later, eating some SERIOUSLY hit deliciousness! We’ll let the rest cool down as was recommended. So far….dee-licious!
I love this recipe. Often saving time and dishes results in less appetizing food, but that’s not the case here! Im so glad to have found a quick delicious dessert. Only having one dish to wash after is a giant bonus!
I was skeptical about this recipe, but so glad I tried it! Easily of the best batches of brownies I’ve ever made. Crackly top and a silky, gooey center. Delicious! I made them exactly as shown and they came out perfectly! This will now be my go to brownie recipe. I’d post a pic, but there aren’t any left!
These brownies were so good. I might try doubling the recipe next time. I added peanut butter chips to half my pan. Delicious!
This is easy and delicious. Easy to follow, easy to make substitutions if needed, easy to mix, easy to bake and easy to eat lol
are we not suppose to put any baking soda or baking powder
This is now my go to brownie recipe! Made them many times and they always turn out perfect! We have a nut allergy in the house, so I add chocolate chips for extra chocolate and some crunch. I also use a 8″ square silicon baking dish so I don’t have to grease the dish or use parchment paper.
These are even good for when we go to the cottage! I put all the dry ingredients in a ziplock bag before we go and then just dump them into a bowl and mix in the wet ingredients just before baking.
I really had my doubts while it was baking but OMG delicious!
These are so delicious and easy. Thank you!
So easy, so good, so gone!!!!
I used maple syrup instead of sugar. A little less then 3/3 cup
Fantastic 😊
Can you not smell the chocolate???? I used maple syrup instead of sugar. About 1/2 cup.
OMG 😱
So easy….
Sooo good…
with 🍨
The first time I made these, PERFECT. 8×8 pan, greased. Exactly 20 minutes. This time the only difference was I doubled the recipe, and used a glass 9×13. They are like pudding in the middle. I can’t even lift them out of the pan. I tried baking longer, it just made the top a bit more flaky. Inside is like mush. What did I do wrong?
You needed to increase the bake time and it looks like you may have over hydrated the batter!
This was the first time I’ve made brownies that came out properly. Simple, super fudgy, and delicious. They were so good I almost ate the whole pan lol!
So good
Jenny I agree that they’re really good, but please don’t eat the pan.😃
These are really good but the cook time was not enough. I had to cook them another 20 minutes.
Yeah I had to add time as well about 15 minutes.
I do love this recipe though it’s my favorite one I’ve tried so now I just use this one. I add in peanut butter and my kids love them. I always have to double or triple the recipe and they are still gone the next day lol…
Wonderful. Have had a bad day and wanted something chocolately that felt relatively easy to make. I melted butter in a saucepan and then added the sugar & cocoa powder, until the sugar dissolved. You honestly really could mix it all in the saucepan itself. They are small brownies but quite delicious. I think next time I’ll double the recipe in an 8″x8″ pan. Thank you for sharing this recipe <3.
I doubled the recipe, used 13×10 pan. Baked for 30 minutes. Added chips during half way baking time to ensure the chips stay on top. Letting it cool right now and it looks delicious! Thanks!
The brownie was so soft and easy to make, I loved how it tasted. I cut the brownie into 14 pieces, it was nice while it lasted. The recipe isn’t hard to get, coincidentally, I have all the ingredients needed. I love it! This is my go-to brownie recipe from now on. Now I just need a cookie one so I can make a brownie-cookie combination with ice cream or Oreo cream!
Best gooey fudgy brownies i have ever had. I will never use a box mix again. I used the double recipe in an 8×8 pan, Ghirardelli cocoa powder, and added a tablespoon of avocado oil. I also used organic cane sugar and drizzled cherry preserves on top. I ended up baking 34 minutes to literal perfection. This will forever be my goto brownie base. I’m looking forward to trying with different fillings.
I love them! Very much so will be making again. But I do have a question how do yall keep yalls from sticking to the pan i oiled my pan before I put the brownin mix in let it cool an hour but still stuck to the pan and felling apart as I took em out the pan.
Try lining the pan with parchment paper. Works for us! Good luck
Perfect brownies. I used a stainless steel 8×8 and greased it. I also used gf flour and made sure to let it rest 5 minutes before baking to hydrate the flour mix. I’m sure it’s even better with wheat flour. I made it all in one sauce pot and beat the sugar in until it dissolved. The top of the brownies are that perfect crackle and they popped out of the steel pan easily.
Hi. I made these for my new neighbors they really liked them!
Normally instead of vanilla i add coffee extract to enhance the chocolate flavor
So, so good. I baked an 8×8. Perfect balance of fudgy while not too dense, and not greasy.perfect sweetness with recommended sugar amount. Is delicious without espresso but divine with it. My new go to. Thank you!!!
