Quick 15-minute small-batch brownies are the perfect serving size. Made with cocoa powder and made in one bowl with minimal prep and clean up; they’re soft and fudgy and the perfect chocolate dessert.

Small batch brownies are perfect for when you are craving a brownie but don’t need an entire batch. They’re perfectly portioned and can make 2 cupcake-size brownies or a small 4×4 batch. This single-serve brownie is the ultimate indulgence, guaranteed to satisfy your sweet cravings! This recipe is a smaller portion of my popular one bowl brownies but made easier and quicker for a quick dessert when you are in a rush.

What you will Need:

To make these delicious single-serve brownies you will only require a few ingredients that you most likely already have in your fridge and pantry.

You will need butter, sugar, cocoa powder, an egg, vanilla, all-purpose flour, and chocolate chips, chopped chocolate or walnuts, if desired.

How to Make a Single-Serve Brownie

To make this delicious brownie, gather all of your ingredients and preheat the oven to 350F. Grease your container. These brownies can be made in 2-3 muffin cups or a 4×4 dish. Any small glass oven-safe pyrex or ramekins work perfectly.

Grab a small mixing bowl and add the butter to it then melt it in the microwave. To the same bowl, beat in the sugar until dissolved then whisk in the cocoa powder.

Add the egg and vanilla and whisk aggressively until you get a shiny batter. Next, fold in the flour and salt and mix until just combined. Fold your chocolate chips into the mixture.

Transfer to a small oven-safe pan and bake for 12 minutes for a gooey brownie or 15 minutes for fully set brownies. Allow to cool for a few minutes then top with vanilla icecream and enjoy!

Recipe Tip

Use an oven-safe bowl to melt the butter and make the batter and then go ahead and bake in the same bowl as well! A small pyrex works great for this.

How Many Brownies Does this Recipe Make?

This recipe makes a large single-serve brownie or about 2-3 cupcake-size brownies.

Which type of chocolate chips do I need to use?

You can use any type of chocolate chip you can find at the grocery store. If you’d like to make these brownies even more chocolatey, you can use chocolate chunks instead of chocolate chip morsels.

How to Store This Brownie?

Although I’m sure you will enjoy this delicious brownie all in one setting, if you’d like to save some for later, simply cover with plastic wrap or transfer to an air-tight container and store at room temp for up to 3 days. To freeze: Wrap the brownie in plastic wrap and freeze for up to 3 months.
