Creamy, flavorful, and super easy to make avocado pasta that will blow your mind! it takes under 15 minutes to make and will impress you and your loved one!
If there’s ever a recipe I’m going to beg you to try, it’s this one. This avocado pasta is out of this world! you won’t really know what to expect or how delicious it is until you try it. It’s like nothing else I’ve ever had before but tastes just a tad like pesto. The smooth creamy avocado along with the tangy garlic and fresh herbs make an amazing combo! Plus, it’s healthy and good for you too!
You basically cook any type of pasta you want to al’dente and set it aside. Then you take the avocado, garlic, parmesan cheese, olive oil, lemon or lime, and basil and/or cilantro and process it for just a minute until it’s all combine. Place the creamy avocado sauce mixture on your pasta and combine. The results are truly magical! Tangy, creamy pasta that will impress just about anyone and will make you look like a pro chef! ????
- 2 cup uncooked dry pasta any type
- 1 ripe avocado halved, seeded and peeled
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan or romano cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves or/and cilantro or parsley I used basil and cilantro and it was amazing!
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Cook your pasta according to the package. Drain well.
- While the pasta is cooking, place the avocado, olive oil, parmesan cheese, garlic, cilantro, and lime juice in a blender or food processor and blend well. You can leave it chunky or process it until it's creamy.
- Toss the pasta with the avocado sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste and top with parmesan or romano cheese, if desired. Enjoy!
OMG!!! This is full of flavor!!! Made this for my daughter to carb load before tournament. It was amazingly simple and amazingly delicious. I used Romano cheese, basil and Italian parsley. I used mostly lime and a little lemon for the second tablespoon. The sauce made an amazing dip, too. Maybe I used a little too much cheese. I will triple the recipe next time.
I only made the sauce part of this recipe. I had bought some pasta that was supposed to have a garlic sauce, but was completely tasteless. I found this recipe and made the sauce.. it was really, really good. Thanks for this recipe that turned a meh dish into an amazingly good one! 🙂
Perfect as is. My 13 year-old son made this for his school project. So good – and healthy, and easy to make! He had to follow the recipe exactly for the project, so I can vouch for it as written. I’ve also made it before, and I love the sharpness of raw grated (freshly minced) garlic, so I increase this. If I was just doing this for adults, I’d do the extra garlic and add more lime or lemon with some zest, plus extra pepper. Not needed for a family meal though.
Just made this for my vegetarian family and we all loved it! I added spinach with a small amount of basil to the sauce and used avocado oil instead of olive oil. I mixed in some roasted broccoli and topped with toasted panko crumbs for extra texture.
SO good!!! You absolutely have to try this recipe I loved it so much. I cut it in half and it made the perfect serving size for me, I finished it all! I didn’t have all the ingredients on hand so I substituted canola oil for vegetable oil and dried herbs for fresh ones, and it still came out it amazing. Tastes so fresh, tangy, and flat out delicious. Thanks so much for this recipe, will definitely be making this again! :))

Just made this last night and we loved it. In fact my friend is coming over tomorrow and I am making it for her. Only thing I added was 2 tablespoons of yogurt. Otherwise I followed recipe. Thank you for such a delicious, easy recipe.
This was really lovely – made it on a whim to use up an avocado. I used coriander (cilantro) and lime also and it was delicious! Also added some fried courgettes and sun dried tomatoes as needed to use up, and sprinkled with extra cheese, lots of black pepper and chilli flakes. It doesn’t at all taste like guacamole on pasta, just its own very delicious thing which you can play around with as you like – thank you.
So good! Made mine plant-based, so subbed oil out for veggie broth and subbed the cheese out WIth nutritional yeast. I eyeballed those ingredients. Will definitely be making this again. Thanks for the inspiration!! (Sorry for caps…would only show that way)

Great recipe THANKS! Easy and quick! I used 2 avocados instead of one. I used shredded vegan parm instead of regular (so my vegan daughter could enjoy it too). And I added a can of diced tomatoes. Delicious! Me and my 19 and 21 year old DAUGHTERS enjoyed it very MUCH, several times!!!
This is now one of my favorite go-to recipes! It is a delicious, easy meat-free option. Thank you!
You’re welcome! <3
So delicious and so quick! I was looking for a quick meal and had all pf these ingredients in the house. Served over chickpea pasta with a few turkey meatbAlls, and hubby and i were quite happy.
Thank you so much for sharing this delic recipe. I just mase it for dinner and my family loved it. I just added some grilled chicken breast and it was amazing. 😁
Yum! Chicken sounds like a great addition <3
Great, fast and simple recipe
I enjoyed this a lot! I would recommend adding less of the garlic (like 1 clove tops), but otherwise, perfect for me!
wow@ I have BEEN looking at this recipe for a while now and finally decided to make it. I wish i hadn’t waited so long! YUm!! everyone in my family loved it (4 year old daughter included!) i also roasted some garbanzo beans and added them. i made it exactly as you stated you did, some basil and cilantro. delicious!
Simple and amazing sauce! Even better the next day! Used it as a spread for a sandwich too. Our picky toddler polished off his plate of PASTA, thank you!
So happy to hear the little one enjoyed it!! <3
This recipe is so good! I was worried it was going to taste too much like GUAc mixed with pasta, but all of the other flavorings in it make it taste amazing! Will definitely be making it again again.
Great use for avocado pulp! Planning on trying a bit of anchovy next time, and either fresh or sun-dried tomato..possibly artichoke hearts! Thank you for recipe!!
why does this not have more reviEws? Fantastic recipe. Will always make this at home. Thank you!

I found The raw garlic to be kind Of overwhelming so i added a spoonful of greek yogurt which mellowed it out.
Made this for dinner tonight. The only thing I didn’t have was fresh basil, parsley or cilantro so I used a bit of dried basil. It was fabulous. I will make this again and again. I have just recently started using avocados and was looking for simple but delicious recipes.
how much fiber?
Great recipe!! My bf and I loved it. I added some cherry tomatoes and corn to the dish and it gave a little extra flavor but the recipe as is tasted delicious already.

Thanks for a great recipe!! I made it for my family and friends and it was all they could talk about for 2 days !!!
Making it again after church and serving with baked chicken. This is at the top of our favorites now !!!
I must have used a really large avicadi because I had to add another cup of pasta. This tasted great, though. For an even “cheesier” taste, add 1-2 tablespoons of nutritional yeast.
This is just soo delicious OMG
How well do you think this would do in the freezer? Would love to have some ready made sauce!
I froze my extras and it was just as delicious! It only was in the freezer for about a week because it was so good I had to eat it again, so I’m not sure how long it would last after a week 🙂
Yum, it tastes even better the next day!
Has anyone tried nutritional yeast in place of the cheese for a vegan version?
Is this pasta eaten hot or cold?
As a dietician I am constantly cautioning people that although avocado is a healthy fat, it is still fat and high in calories. If you are trying to lose weight you should have no more than a half an avocado per day or less often.
Thanks for your input, Ruthie! We try not to have too much but it’s just so good!
I made this and I found it serves at least 4 so ends up being about a 1/4 avo per person. Hope that helps!
Gawd…I just made this, tossed with prosciutto and toasted walnuts…fantastic!
Still better than the alternative though right? Don’t knock it just because avocado has fat in it!
Looks like the recipe uses one avocado and serves three people.
I tried it and it’s incredible. Perfect combo!

it was OK
But it tasted like guac on my pasta..and i dunno how i feel about it.
Yeah my family thought so too – my daughter added beans and dipped chips in it! Not my favorite
