If you’re on a low-carb, paleo or keto diet then you’re going to fall in love with this keto bread recipe. It’s so soft, fluffy and delicious, you’ll find it hard to believe that it’s actually keto. It’s all made in the microwave in just 90 seconds!
This bread is perfect for the mornings when you need a slice of bread to serve with your egg and bacon, for a breakfast or lunch sandwich, or for making grilled cheese. It’s perfectly soft and holds up great, especially when toasted.
For the bowl, I like to use a large ramekin or any small microwave-safe bowl. If you’re making grilled cheese, a small square sandwich size container works great.
To Make Microwave Keto Bread, You will Need:
1 egg
1 Tablespoon butter or oil
3 Tablespoons Almond Flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
To make, simply combine all the ingredients in a small bowl and pour into a greased microwave-safe bowl or ramekin. Microwave for 90 seconds. Flip out of the ramekin and slice in half.
To toast: butter a pan or skillet over medium heat and toast the bread until golden and crispy. Alternatively, toast in a toaster.
90 Second Low Carb Keto Bread
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons almond flour, or 1 tablespoon coconut flour
- 1 tablespoon butter, or oil
- 1 medium/large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon double acting baking powder
Instructions
- Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl or ramekin. Add the almond flour, egg and baking powder to the butter. Beat with a fork until completely mix.
- Microwave for about 90 seconds, until firm. Run a knife along the edge and flip over a plate to release. Slice in half, then toast in the toaster or in a skillet.
- To Bake: Pre-heat oven to 375F. Bake in a ramekin for 10-12 minutes or until cooked through.

easy, filling and delicious. the texture is good, but a little dry..i am guessing due to the almond flour.. low carb and gluten free
This is a perfect sustitute for a burger bun! In fact, it holds together better than alot of buns!

Can the batter be made ahead of time? I’m thinking the oil will harden if kept in the fridge. Granted it will soften at room temp.

Can i just say ~ yum!! This was fantastic. Just what I needed after cutting regular bread.
This works great in the 4 INCH mini waffle maker. I pour half the recipe on the hot waffle iron, cook for 4 minutes, repeat with the second half of the recipe and you have 2 slices of toasted bread (with fancy waffle design!) For a delicious sandwich. I make several batches ahead And put in fridge. I like the taste of these better than the just egg and cheese “chaffles” that are all the low carb rage now.

What size RAMEKIN would you recommend?
It was delicious but about 100 calories more than you posted, 2 more carb grams, 7 more protein grams and 2 more fat grams. I used a different almond flour but the label was very close to yours.
When I added up the ingredients for the 90 second keto bread it came TO 309 calories, 6 g carbs, 11 g protein and 29 fat grams. How did you get less? I compared the labels of your almond flour to mine and they were pretty close so cannot figure this out.

Made this for the first time. Made no additions this time. All in all, a very good alternative to bread, and it is always fresh. Try toasting, after buttering, in a frying pan on medium hi heat. great quick and easy breakfast. Thanks for sharing the recipe

You probably need to take it out of the microwave sooner, your microwave might be higher power. The longer is there the dryer and harder it will get.
I love this, made fpur time already, each time I have change it alittle, adding salt and also cheddar cheese, I used butter instead of oil today, and a small egg, toasted is delish! works great in waffle iron too!

I have been an Executive Pastry Chef for 38 yearS AND HAVE BEEN TEACHING PASTRY FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS. THE RECIPE IS SUPER SIMPLE AND COMES OUT PERFECT AND IS BETTER TOASTED (FOR A KETO BREAD). i LIKE JUST USING THE coconut FLOUR OPTION BETTER. i JUST DONT PREFER THE BREADS WITH aLMOND FLOUR.

The 90 sec Keto friendly bread is great IF YOU ADD I PACKET OF STEVIA AND THEN SLICE AND TOAST a bit. That gets rid of the eggy texture!
INTERESTING. I USED EGG WHITES (3t = 1 EGG). OVERALL A FAIRLY EGGY TASTE. wILL TRY ADDING NOOCH NEXT TIME PER ANOTHER REVIEWER’S SUGGESTION. tASTED BOTH HOT OUT OF THE MICROWAVE AND TOASTED. toasted WAS NICER.

this works great. in my opinion, it does not taste like scrambled eggs…
i add in a tablespoon of nutritional yeast for the vitamins and flavor. I also add a pinch of salt.
last time i made this, instead of using almond flour, I substituted 2 tablespoons of finely ground sunflower seeds with 1 tablespoon of flax meal; and coconut oil for the butter; then toasted.

This is good – ESPECIALLY when grilled in butter. However, when i enter the recipe in my Carb Manager app, it comes up as 3 net carbs, not 2. I wonder why that is?

I made this and then smothered one side with tuna salad and slices of avocado. Then my bf and i split the other half with some cream cheese on it – only one net carb each!

I lOve this recipe! I use a chia egg instead of real egg (as i am vegan.). I’ve also added everything but thE bagel seasoning or rosemary/sea salt. So delicious. Sometimes i will cook for only 60 seconds if i want it a bit Softer.
