Perfectly crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, cookie butter chocolate chip cookies
What better way to start the new year than with a cookie! I think the cookie really helped get the edge off of last night. I usually make my cookie butter at home, ( I will post the recipe very soon), but it can be purchased from Trader Joe’s which is the only place that I am aware of that sells cookie butter.
If you know me, then you know that I am deeply in love with cookie butter. It’s the like a jar of heavenly butter. I think cookie butter is like the new Nutella, I wonder if it can replace it.. So I whipped up this batch as regular cookie butter cookies but they turned out so insanely crunchy! I really can not explain how delicious these cookies taste right out of the oven!
It was my first New Years here in Philadelphia and coming from NYC I have to say that I am surprised at how amazing the fireworks are here! And I thought that there was no place in the world that can beat Times Square! I guess it’s not about how big the celebration is, it’s about being with your loved ones!

In the ingredient list you say “baking soda” but in the directions you say “baking powder” – which one should it be?
Layla @ Brunch Time Baker says
I’m sorry about that Sharon, I’ve corrected it. It’s Baking Soda. Please let me know how it goes!
I think you may of meant 350 degrees?
Thank you for pointing that out Lisa! I just changed it. 🙂
I’m a cookie butter addict, so I must say for me, cookie butter has replaced nutella!! Crazy. I know I’d adore these cookies!!
Joanne-I’m a huge addict of cookie butter as well! I love nutella and cookie butter equally, they are both soooo good!!

Cookie butter?!? How have I never heard of this? Is it like peanut butter but cookie flavor? I must go to Trader Joe’s right away and buy some! This cookies look amazing. I love thin and crispy cookies, so these would be perfect for me. Happy New Year friend!
Natalie, I never new about cookie butter as well until a few months ago when my husband purchased a jar because his friend loves it. It’s like peanut butter but instead of the peanuts, it’s cookies! Isn’t that cool! Happy New Year to you too! 🙂

Cookie butter is awesome, and I bet it makes these irresistible. I can’t wait to see your cookie butter recipe, but my favorite is Lotus brand Biscoff that they sell at most nice grocery stores. They make creamy and crunchy and it is THE BEST! Happy New Year!
Yes cookie butter is irresistible! Thank you for telling me about the Biscoff brand! I actually never heard of it and I just googled it and it looks yummy! Apparently, it’s head to head with the Trader Joe’s brand lol! Have a Happy New Year!
