90 Second Microwavable Low Carb Keto BreadIf you’re on a low-carb, paleo or keto diet then you’re going to fall in love with this keto bread recipe. It’s so soft, fluffy and delicious, you’ll find it hard to believe that it’s actually keto. It’s all made in the microwave in just 90 seconds!

This bread is perfect for the mornings when you need a slice of bread to serve with your egg and bacon, for a breakfast or lunch sandwich, or for making grilled cheese. It’s perfectly soft and holds up great, especially when toasted.

For the bowl, I like to use a large ramekin or any small microwave-safe bowl. If you’re making grilled cheese, a small square sandwich size container works great. 90 Second Microwavable Low Carb Keto Bread

  1. This bread is a game changer! I am just starting Mediterranean Keto and I have been hesitant because i love bread. This is an absolutely amazing alternative to carb loaded bread! YAY!

  2. Sorry for the caps. For some reason it wont let me use lowercase.
Does anybody have problem with baking soda taste in their bread? I made it this morning and i couldnโ€™t eat it because all i tasted was baking soda.

    1. Its baking powder not soda. Try that should work great

      1. baking powders are made up of sodium bicarbonate (also known as baking soda or bicarbonate of soda) and one or more acid salts. Typical formulations (by weight) call for 30% sodium bicarbonate, 5-12% monocalcium phosphate, and 21-26% sodium aluminium sulfate. The last two ingredients are acidic. I had the same problem and I reduce the baking powder to 1/8th of teaspoon.

  3. Wow – this was just what i needed for my thanksgiving turkey sandwiches!! Thank you for this easy to make, tremendously fast bread. i was so craving a sandwich and will be making this every day for sure! This is soooo much better than oopsie bread and so much less of a pain. i cut in half, popped it into my toaster oven and the texture was great. just the right size too.

  4. Thanks for the recipe, but i Do see t tot proTein in the nutri box. I need to add it to myplate. Tnx

  5. Awesome recipe! To cut the fats, I use egg beaters and Greek yogurt (in place of oil or butter) – comes out perfect!

I’ve even added stevia and flavor extracts to make this as a sweet bread. Perfect addition to a diabetic diet!

Sorry for the caps – won’t let me use lower case…

  6. Made this with HOMEmade coconut flour, topped with an Indian curry.

    Omg! It tasted awesome!!

    Thanks for the receipe!!

  7. i FOUND AN aluminum-free baking powder! iT HAS no aluminum and no cornstarch, AND is totally carb free. It’s sold at Target and is called Market Pantry.

  8. this was a delicious recipe. I loved it. I added some of my everything bagel spice on top and was soo good. I may make this every single morning lol

  9. I made it with olive oil instead of butter. or coconut melted oil…ate with burger, lettuce, avocado , spicy mayo. super excellent bun

  10. Does it have to be microwaved? Can we bake it in the oven instead?

    1. The baking instruction is in the recipe notes. To Bake in Oven: Use a ramekin and bake at 375 for 10 minutes

  11. is there no PROtein from the egg CONTENT?
Not sure why in caps… Im not angry lol

    1. I have not tried this without eggs but you can try a flaxseed egg.

  12. Did you use baking soda? The recipe calls for baking powder and a lot of people are using baking soda which explains why they turned out salty.

  13. I was searching for nurtrition facts amd could not find them. Could YOu help with that?

    1. The nutritional recipe box is directly under the recipe.

      1. Are the nutrition facts for the coconut flour version? When I added up the ingredIENTS using ground almonds i got just 1g carbs, 26g fat and 11 protein – perfect!

  14. I would like to make a large batch and bake in a muffin tin (greased) – any advice?

  15. Is there any reason you couldn’t add rosemary, garlic powder, onion powder, etc?

    1. I don’t see why not! This would make an herb bread that sounds wonderful ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. Delicious! I’ve been Keto for almost 3 months now and this was so good, perfect texture….I will say it puffed up A lot more than I expected, mine was like a muffin but I just split it and ate it with some Kerrygold butter…I will definitely make it again, thanks!

    1. So glad you enjoyed the bread, Lindsey! It does puff up a lot so I like to split it and make two or even 3 toasted English muffins with it.

  17. That was Really good. Would there be any reason you couldnt Freeze the cooked prodcut so you have them ready

    1. I don’t see why you would not be able to freeze the bread. I suggest slicing them in half and freezing then reheating in the toaster or in a skillet with some butter.

  18. I added some shredded cheese. It was awesome tasting.

  19. This is great. Just made a grilled cheese and it tastes very good. Thanks!

  20. I am on a similar diet AND keeping myself from eating processed foods is proving to be a great thing for me. Finding foods that replace things I typically eat help this transition become MUCH smoother! Thank you!! โค๏ธ

  21. This is great. It is both quick and easy to make single servings!

  22. i made this for breakfast this morning because i really have been missing having some bread ever since i started keto. i used just an egg white instead of the whole egg and added one tablespoon of sour cream in it. i also did it in a sandwich container. Toasted it on a skillet with some butter and i spread some of the pumpkin butter i made a few days ago on top. DELICIOUS! love this recipe.

  23. Oh my! Thank you! Yum! I made a grilled cheese and i am happy!

  24. Any idea how to do this with an oven?We do not have a microwave.

    1. Yes, we have oven instructions in the recipe notes. To Bake in Oven: Use a ramekin and bake at 375 for 10 minutes.

  25. fantastic! I’VE tried different breads and this is on top of my list. It has nice TEXTURE, great TASTe and adding blueberriesand a little swerve for a nice afternoon treat would make it even better.
EASY, quick and one of the best breads I’VE tried on pinterest.

  26. to die for thank YOU. made this today for lunch and put cheese lunch meat and fried them in butter the consistency was like English muffins not eggy

  27. why is there no protein amount listed in your recipe?

  28. I made these today; and i have to say, i wish i knew the recipe earlier; these are great. I addede a tablespoon more almond flour, and a little more baking soda. They came out great, and almost the thickness of a enGlish muffin. I sliced and toasted well, and added cream cheese. DeeeeeelicH.๐Ÿ˜‹

  29. I’ve been craving bread for sandwiches etc. This recipe is so yummy! And very versitile! Made my first grilled cheese sandwich! Yummy so simple to assemble and came out exactly like you said! Thank you so much!

  30. THis is great! It satisfies the desire for bread. I’ve started adding 1 teaspoon pesto and 2 teaspoons oil inn place of the oil/butter. SO YUMMY – It adds a great savory flavor. Might try cheesy garlic variation next time.

  31. I made it the other day. Bicarbonate or baking soda made mine so salty too. I have to put less next time.

    1. bECAUSE IT SAYS BAKING POWDER NOT SODA, THEIR NOT THE SAME

  32. Finally! A bread that actually tastes good! I had almost given up until my daughter asked me to try it. It worked out just fine with regular baking soda. I also made it with nut flour mix and half a teaspoon of Monkfruit sweetener. Delicious with my pb and J. Next, I am going to try and make a strawberry shortcake with this. I am so thrilled with this recipe!

  33. Can the batter be made the night before? I’m usually pretty sleepy in the morning and would love to be able to just stick it in the microwave instead of mixing it first. Thanks.

    1. I have not tried making these the night before and I’m not sure how the batter will hold up but that does sound like a great idea! I will update you if when I try it the night before.

  34. Outstanding ! mAde with almond flour and then grilled up on a pan with a little more butter.

  35. Really great recipe. Fluffy and light, toasted it with some butter, made great quick breakfast. Going to try doubling the recipe tonight for burger buns. THANKS again!

  36. has anyone tried to save this for another day? Wondering what refridgeration or freezing would do? Do not know why I have all caps, sorry

  37. I made this 90 sec mug bread and it was good. I think your nutritional information is wrong.

  38. I am 80 years old, and have decided that high bp might come down if I clean up my eating, and move a bit more. So far, its working. Thank you for this very nice little recipe, and wish me well.

  39. i love it, i did just what the rec said. Then i put it in a frying pan with a li butter brown both sides so g ๐Ÿ˜Š.

  40. The 90 second low carb keto bread is excellent , tried it for the first time TODAY and loved it . Not only does it taste fantastic , it is extremely easy to Make too. It is definiTely a keeper . Loved it. Thank you

  41. Made it again and added a touch of pink salt and swerve and used mct oil instead of other oils/fats (not sure how this changed the nutrient content amounts), but adding the salt and swerve sure added a nice taste to it; also put it in a latte bowl and only 60 seconds in the microwave, and it made a nice “loaf” that you could cut in half and use more like a regular slice of bread; will give some berries a try next time — yummy!!!

  42. can you use mct oil instead of other oil or butter? if so, any idea what the nutritional value is for the fat? thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

  43. this is so amazing! I just saw this for the first time and thought I’d try it right away – what a quick and versatile fix for keto bread; i can see if you mix in a tsp. swerve or some fruit this could be a nice mid-afternoon treat …. thanks!

  44. just making sure this whoLe thing is one serving correct?

  45. This is amazing “bread”!! I made it for my daughter who needs keto bread. She loved it, AND she doesn’t like bread. I loved it also, and I am a big bread lover!! Wow…..

  46. You probably Used baking soda not baking powder as Per recipe! Just a thought, as I’ve made this mistake once before๐Ÿ˜ซ& baking soda is very salty!!

  47. Love this recipe and other similar ones, partley because it is so easy to remember ! I have been having fun experimenting with different add ons too. Since Im not doing Keto, just lower carbs/no to low sugar, i have added a tablespoon of dark chocolate chips -darkest i could buy – to the mixture for a pretty close version of a chocolate chip muffin, reserved for special treat only! A teaspoon of no added sugar fruit jam also is great on it with hardly any extra carbs added. Just an east fun filling recipe with alot of potential beyond the basics!

  48. i USED ALMOND FLOUR SO MY BREAD WAS ONLY 1 CARB! i USED AN EXTRA LARGE EGG WHICH MADE IT JUST A LITTLE EGGY BUT IT WAS ALSO SUPER FLUFFY ANS MOIST. i DIDNT EVEN HAVE TO TOAST THIS AND IT WAS AMAZING.tHANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS RECIPE i HAVE BEEN SICK AND NOT WANTING TO EAT MUCH OR COOK A LOT AND THIS HIT THE SPOT!

  49. i USED ALMOND FLOUR SO MY BREAD WAS ONLY 1 CARB! i USED AN EXTRA LARGE EGG WHICH MADE IT JUST A LITTLE EGGY BUT IT WAS ALSO SUPER FLUFFY ANS MOIST. i DIDNT EVEN HAVE TO TOAST THIS AND IT WAS AMAZING.tHANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS RECIPE i HAVE BEEN SICK AND NOT WANTING TO EAT MUCH OR COOK A LOT AND THIS HIT THE SPOT!

  50. Does anyone have a way to make more than one at a time? Possibly in the oven? With a large family it would be quite a chore to make about 15 of these just one at a time.

  51. WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!! I’ve been doing this keto thing for about 5 months (or 55 lbs) one of the things I have really missed is a piece of bread with a number of my meals. I read this recipe 25 minutes ago, I made it, shared it with mum and Wow!
    Mindbogglingly tasty.

  52. Can I replace baking powder with sodium Bicarbonate?

  53. can paelo flour be used instead almond flour ?

  54. Haha… I didnt read the dir about the coconut flour vs almoNd flour and it came out really dense andheavy, but still good flAvor. Will Try again tomorrow.

  55. Super easy to make. Toasted nicely. Makes a great addition to my meal menu. Breakfast is much more interesting now.

  56. I am one month into the keto life, and i have missed bread. This recipe was so easy and welcomed. I appreciate that you included the variation In ratio between almond and coConut flour. I will try adding cinnamon and stevia for a sweet breakfast treat with My bacon and eggs. Thanks for the quick Fix to my need for bread.

  57. I made this recipe, however found it to be too bitter using the recommended amount of baking soda.. 1/8 tsp of baking soda is sufficient. the bread is a bit bland and the texture could be compared to between a muffin and a biscuit. certainly a good option if you are trying to watch your carbs or on the keto diet.

  58. This was sooo tasty! I added salt, onion flakes and garlic pepper. Toasted it in olive oil THEn Ate it with cream cheese and watercress. Amazing! Just finished it now! It was a little dry I’m wondering what would happen if I added a little mayo for moisture?

    1. Your additions sound delicious! I haven’t tried adding mayo but that sounds like a great idea!!

  59. it was delicious! exactly what I needed to curb my craving for bread. I added a sprinkle of shredded cheese and it was perfect! really liked the texture too. thanks for sharing the recipe.

  60. Do you need the baking powder? Does it make a difference?

  61. Thank you for this recipe. It’s good. I am wondering if anyone has come up with a really good loaf of low carb and gluten bread that rises so the slices are full sized. I have been looking and experimenting, but so far haven’t found anything.

  62. I Added some powderEd sugar subsTitute and Ground cinnamon and nutmeg – wow!!

  63. WOnderful! Fried in garlic butter and served with steak and veggies. A lovely addition to the supper table instead of garlic toast.

  64. This was absolutely ๐Ÿ˜‹…Thanx sooooo much..NOW I CAN HAVE SANDWICHESโ˜บ..I GUESS U COULD ALSO PUT IN A MICROWAVE 4″ SQUARE AND MAKE GRILL CHEESE..

  65. I notice that many recipes fOr bread and crackersuse tapioca flour, it this four ok On keto-woe.

  66. I dont have double acting baking pOwder. Would it work with just regular baking powder?

  67. My friend just told me today about 90 second bread, i had no clue what she was talking about. i tried one other one but it had way too much coconut taste. this was the bomb!!! i did what someone else posted and added a splash of parm. cheese and a tiny amount of garlic salt. fried it in butter and put a slice of smoked gouda cheese. holy crap, that was so satisfying! Outstanding! sharing with all my (like me) keto newbies.

  68. ***Sorry if this comes out all caps, that’s all that it’s allowing me to type in the comment box*** I’ve made this bread twice. The first time I added 1 Tbsp of Parmesan and it tasted good but a bit dry. So the second time I added 1 tbsp shredded Parmesan and 1 tbsp shredded extra sharp Cheddar Cheese and it came out scrumptious. I’ll be having this for breakfast A LOT! I only gave it 4 stars because of the dryness of the original recipe.

  69. Do you have to use double acting BP? I ONLY HAVE REGULAR AND WABT TO MAKE THIS

  70. Finally an easy AND del keto bread. Not dense And not eggy. It smelLs very eggy but doesnt have a strong egg taste.

  71. it really is that good! believe the other reviews. my mixture rose high enough to create 3 slices of “bread.” i had it with sausage crumbles in cream cheese and also with low carb maple syrup – both were super tasty. my picky husband even liked it, something i rarely hear when he tried my latest low carb recipe. i think this would be good with strawberries and whipped topping, too, as it has a slight, wet shortcake-like texture/taste. i can’t wait to experiment and try cinnamon and other ingredients.

    1. Did you use Almond or coconut flour? Ty

  72. THis was so delicious and so easy! Iโ€™m So happy i stumBled across this recipe ๐Ÿ™‚

  73. Eating this as I type! Turned out very nicely – i made a toasted ham and cheese sandwich for lunch ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป I was a bread monster before going low carb, and although i haven’t really missed it, every now and then i crave something like this. Quick, easy, Low prep and tasty – who could ask for more? Well, maybe some low carb strawberry jam to go on it?

  74. WHAT IS THE PROTEIN VALUE? that is important to know for a keto diet

    1. I Think you could calculate that yourself by looking on the packages of the ingredients that are in it … and then adding them all up. As in, how much protein is in the egg you are using? Should be on the carton. Then, how much protein is in the almond flour? If it’s not on the package, there are reliable online databases where you can find this information for this recipe, and any others that you want to make that don’t show the nutritional info. Add up your totals and divide by how many servings it makes ** FOR YOU **. This part is important, as some recipes don’t always yield the amount they say they will or we want our portions a different size. Good luck with it!

  75. First try, added too much butter accidenTally, didnt have the double acting baking powder, it still didnt maTter. Tasted terrific, day 4 of keto and was about to give in to real bread. This saved me ๐Ÿ˜‰

  76. My whole life just transf with this bread! I added a little garlic and mozz cheese and OMG!

  77. WOULD THIS BE GOOD BUTTERED, TOASTED UNDER A BROILER AND EATEN WITH SUGAR FREE sTRAWBERRY JAM?

    1. I have not tried with eggwhites alone so I can’t be sure without further recipe testing!

  78. ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE KETO BREAD. IF YOU ARE NEW TO KETO, YOU MUST TRY IT. IT’S SUPER EASY TO MAKE AND TASTES DIVINE.

  79. i just made this! it is delicious! i like that it feels like actual bread, or as close as possible. There’s no strong almond taste either. i did not toast it, I just ate it right off the microwave. i love how EASY it is to make, for when i get my need to eat bread now craving. lol trying to go low carb is a challenge

  80. This is just the BEST RECIPE! ADDED SOME TUSCAN SEASONINGS MAKES IT EVEN BETTER! SO MANY THINGS YOU CAN DO LOVE IT!!

  81. I Tried TO make This TODAY BUT It raised up and Came Out like a biscuit but It was very hard aND crunchy, definitely not fluffy or flat like in the pictures – any ideas What might Have GONE wrong? I’m Thinking maybe 3 minutes in MY Microwave WAS TOO Much. But I also used Regular BAKING powder instead of DOUBLE acting ..

  82. I tried this bread this morning and love it. I browned it in a skillet after the micro and it was awesome with my dippy eggs at breakfast.

  83. I’m so happy I found this recipe and it’s so delicious! I’m new to keto so I’m trying to stay afloat by being as CREATIVE as possible. Added to my faves THANKS so much!

  84. When you Do not have a microwave how Can it be made?

    It looks good!

    Thanks in advnce

    Kristel

  85. Can I bake this in a regular oven. I do not use microwaves

    1. Yes, they can be baked in the oven, use a ramekin and bake at 375 for 10 minutes.

  86. If using cOconut flour, is it really Only 1 tbS if COCONUT flour vs 3 tbs almond flour? Am i reading this correctly? Thanks

    1. Yes, it’s only 1 tablespoon. Coconut flour is particularly absorbent and sucks up a lot of moisture!

    1. I haven’t tried adding bacon or cheese but they both sound like delicious additions. I would just add a tablespoon at best.

  87. I really liked this recipe, I’ll surely make THIS again

  88. which baking powder did you use, single or double acting?

  89. Made this KEto BREAD but it was EXTREMELY SALTY . What dID I do WRong?

    1. Hi Barb, I just got your email. I’m not sure why it’s salty. Did you use baking powder or baking soda?

      1. I used baking powder. That is so strange….it says double acting. Could that be why? I just love the sound of this recipe….

        1. The only possible explanation is the baking powder. I’ve reduced it to 1/2 teaspoon to be safe!

    2. Did you use salted buttr???? If so, thatโ€™s why it turnd out so salty.

      1. i did too, but I thought it enhanced the flavor. any body have ideas how to make this to chocolate cake (of sorts)?? got a hankerin for some dessert.

  90. Thank you so much for sharing this easier bread recipe. I usually prefer to eat bread every morning and that has become a habit now. I can’t think of having any other thing in the morning. So now I’m trying to make different types of bread so that I won’t get tired eating the same taste. This one I find very easy to make and definitely gonna try this soon.
