How to Make Keto Waffles

Making these keto waffles is super easy and only takes a few minutes! I’ve included step by step photos and a full recipe card at the bottom of the post.

Begin by adding all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth, about 1 minute. You want to make sure the cream chees is fully incorporated and almost lump free. At this point, you can go ahead and add your favorite add-ins. We like to add berries, or these delicious sugar-free chocolate chips for a keto-friendly sweet treat!

Next, grease a waffle maker and pour batter into the waffle maker. Cook according to waffle maker instructions or until crispy and golden! Enjoy with maple syrup, or with fried chicken, or with your favorite sauces!

Keto Maple Syrup:

Keto maple syrup is tricky to find because most “sugar-free” maple syrups contain hidden sugars. This Maple Syrup is the only brand we recommend (not sponsored!). It’s rich and thick, perfectly sweetened with natural sweeteners, and is by far the best maple syrup we’ve found.

How Many Carbs Are in this Keto Waffle?

There are 2 Net Carbs in each Waffle. 5 Net Carbs Subtract (1g Fiber) and (2g Sugar Alcohol) from the Erythritol.

What type of Waffle Maker will I Need?

You can make these waffles in a Belgian waffle maker and the recipe should yield 3-4 Begilan waffles or make them in a standard waffle maker. This recipe also works great in the dash mini waffle maker!

How to Store and Freeze Keto Waffles

These waffles are best eaten right away but can also be stored for future use. Leftovers can be kept in the fridge in an airtight container or zipseal bags for up to 4 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months. To reheat, simple pop in the toaster for a few seconds or until crispy!

  1. Followed the recipe ,but used the Bullet to blend the ingredients. Very light, crispy. Reminded me of the buckwheat waffles my husband makes. Looking for ingredients that will give these more density.

  2. These are the absolute simplest and most favorite of all the keto recipes I’ve tried thus far! We enjoy them probably a little too often, but wow … nothing like them!

    1. I made these tonight. Did not realize I needed to use a 1:4 ratio for coconut flour, however, they turned out awesome. A trick I’ve learned from my mom is to fluff the eggs before adding anything else. Get that air in there.
I made mine with a mini waffle iron I got for Christmas. Made enough so that my hubby can just grab a couple and a sausage, throw them in the microwave and eat them on the way to work.
They’re beautiful and thick, a little eggy tasting, but aren’t waffles that way anyway?
Wish I could post pictures. They’re so thick and moist.

  3. These are so good. I woke up this morning (on a workday) with a craving for fluffy pancakes or waffles. I found your recipe on google and was skeptical at first. After all– how could these ingredients taste like anything more than a grainy almond meal omelet? But I was so wrong. I think blending the batter is the game changer here. The waffles had a light and fluffy bready texture and a nice traditional flavor. And they literally took just a few moments to make with hardly any clean-up. What a winner. You just gained a subscriber.

  4. You say you can sub heavy whipping cream for cream cheese – how much HWC would you use to make that sub?
    Thanks!
    -g

  5. They’re soft, fluffy and crispy on the outside

  6. These aren’t meant to be crispy, but soft and chewy, if you want crispy then try beating the egg whites to stiff peaks and folding in the rest of the ingredients. Or trial amounts of baking powder in there.

  7. That’s expected tbh since they haven’t used baking powder. I would recommend whipping the egg whites till medium peaks, mix everything else together then combine the egg whites and other mixture by folding not whisking.

    cook and enjoy!

  8. I made this is morning. They were delicious! I softened the cream cheese with the butter, used regular almond flour and a hand mixer. They were great and easy! Thank you!

  9. They weren’t crunchy but they were delicious. Maybe try putting them in the toaster after the cool completely to get a crunch?

  10. These were really good! I made one batch with the cream cheese, butter, half almond/ half coconut flour W/ monk fruit. They were excellent!

The second batch I made for my daughter who is gluten and dairy free, so I used dairy free heavy whipping cream almond flour (but it was a little runny, so I added a tsp of coconut flour), coconut oil and the monk fruit. They were really good too!

I think next time I’ll add a little salt.

These did not crisp up at all in either of my waffle makers. They were very light and fluffy (until they deflated). I tried cooking them longer than normal, but it didn’t really make a difference, and I was hungry! LOL!

The taste is excellent, a little eggier than my normal recipe, but really good!!! I’ll be saving this recipe.

    Thanks!!!

  11. Delicious. Used Swerve Granulated and Coconut oil. Definitely needs a Blender!!! (Not mixer). Added 1/2 cup blueberries to Waffle iron (not to mixure – else they end up blended). It also helps to soften the cream cheese. Batter was a bit runny but worked out anyway. I found it better to run two cycles of the waffle Iron to get that dark texture. – Also helps make it more crispy.

  12. I have tried many keto waffle recipes but this is by FAR the best! These are light, tasty, and easy to make!
    Thank you!!!

  13. Best keto waffle recipe I have found yet! So delicious. I doubled the batch and put in freezer. Took them out and popped into toaster..worked like a charm. Yummy! Thanks so much.

    1. Hi Julie, I was curious how they froze. I’ve tried a bunch of recipes (some pretty good…. others were a one time deal). But I’m trying to find a recipe that you can freeze and still come out crispy. Or at least not on the mushy side and floppy. thanks

  14. As keto waffles go, these are probably my favorite for 1) ease of preparation, and 2) texture. We usually default to a premade, storebought keto pancake/waffle mix and the waffles are always pretty dry and uninteresting. I like the chewier texture of these waffles and the mild flavor goes great with a simple berry compote or sugar-free syrup. It’s nice to be able to whip these up in a couple of minutes with a blender. Makes weekend brunch easy!

  15. These waffles are so good and easy to make. They are not heavy like some made with almond flour, and not too eggy either. I did add an extra 1/2 tsp of baking powder after the first batch for more thickness. I also used the batter for pancakes.

  16. These were super delish. Question: can i refrigerate leftover batter/mix? if so, how many days does it hold? thank you!

    1. As someone very new to keto worrying about missing sugar I can’t tell you how good these are. I had them with strawberries and sugar free maple syrup and could not tell the difference between these and normal Waffles. They are so light and fluffy and not at all crumbly or strange tasting like I expected. Thank you so much! I feel I can now do this diet long term

  17. Oh my, these are the best!!! Believe me, I have been on keto for almost a year. These are great. I used my old waffle maker and not a Belgium waffle maker and it made 2/4’s.

  18. These things are so good! I followed the recipe exactly. Mixed the ingredients in my magic bullet. And cooked on the Dash mini waffle iron. I got 10-11 out of one batch and freeze them. I just pop them in the toaster in the morning for a quick and delicious keto breakfast. Obviously they are better fresh but still taste good one frozen and toasted. Using the given nutritional info it’s about .8 net carbs per mini waffle. Will be making these guys weekly!

  19. I eat “chaffles” often, but tried this recipe out today because I was out of mozzarella and still wanted waffles. Oh my word – I had no idea what I was missing out on. These were absolutely delicious! I made mini waffles in my mini waffle maker & they were perfect. My Non-Keto family members agreed that they were great too!

  20. Thanks for recipe.
I used a mixer and the were delicious but dry.
I added Blueberries and 1/2 Cuo Almond milk. They were delicious too.

  21. Five stars
These waffles were delicious. I made them with my Ninja blender. Why do you show a mixer when the directions say blender.

I wrote your directions and wondered why you tell us to mix ingredients in blender FIRST.

1 . Grease and preheat waffle iron with cooking spray or butter

    2. Add Etc

3 . Pour batter into waffle iron

    4. Cook until golden and crispy. (About 3 minutes) test with less time and see what’s best for your waffle iron

I added about 1 teaspoon Golden Flax Seed and used Lakanto Monk
fruit with Ertherthritol Golden raw cane sugar replacement

This is soooo good that am going to try to make my slice of Keto bread recipe from this recipe for f yours. Thanks for a delicious recipe. You got it right!!!

    1. Thanks so much for the detailed feedback, Lenora! So glad the recipe worked out for you 🙂

  22. Made the batter with almond flour and the coconut oil. The batter was a little thin so I added a half tablespoon of coconut flour. I also put in a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg. Made the batter the night before to have for Easter morning. Batter held up fine in the fridge. Made the waffles in the Belgian waffle maker this morning. They were really good! Great recipe!

  23. What is the measurements for heavy cream. Will rate post using heavy cream

    1. The heavy cream would be a 1:1 ratio to the cream cheese.

  24. There’s already almond flour in these…perhaps add a little more sweetener to your taste and mix them better/longer next time.

  25. I doubled the recipe and it was delicous. I used Xylitol sweetener and a little salt. I always sift My almond flour after measuring it. YUMMY. This was My first time to make waffles…. and I am 65. My husband loved them.

  26. I’ve tried many keto pancakes, french toast and crepes…and this is by far the best recipe yet…I found if you put in the blender and let it mix real well it comes out yummy and fluffy…I think it makes a difference …much better if you cook in a waffle maker…I bought one of those cheap 4″ mini waffle makers for $10 and it was perfect…now I think I will invest in a bigger waffle maker to cut down on the cooking time..thanks for the recipe!!

    1. Excellent! I thought I was eating non keto waffles!!

    1. I haven’t tried it dairy-free and considering the high dairy content I would just say test it with dairy cheese!

      1. Absolutely delicious and anyone who says otherwise has no tastebuds!

    2. I made them dairy free by using coconut oil and a dairy free whipping cream. I added a touch of extra coconut flour because they were runnier this way than the regular way, but they turned out great!

  27. These waffles are amazing! I made them for the first time this morning and I already can’t wait until the next time we have waffles. Even my kids loved them. Thank you for the recipe.

  28. My husband loved them. They were nice and fluffy . I will make them again.

  29. My husband loved them. They were nice and fluffy. I didn’t add anything extra.

    1. Tried for first time it was so easy to make and added Blueberries to dough and whipped cream on the end product!! Thank you it was delicious

  30. Could the batter be made the night before and then cooked on the waffle iron in the morning? My brain doesn’t function enough at 3:45 am to make this. 😂

    1. I haven’t tried doing that but please let us know how it turns out if you do! 😉

      1. These were amazing!!! I added cinnamon and Lily’s chocolate chips as well they came out so good!!

        1. Cinnamon and chocolate chips sound like a delicious addition!

  31. delicious delicious DELICIOUS! I followed your recipe exactly But I added a half teaspoon of allspice into the second baTch. ThIs is a really good recipe thank you for posting I’ll make it again.

    1. tried this today – it was great! added berries and cream – yummy!!

    1. Jo zimnySounds to me like JD did not mix it enough you have to really whip it up it will be creepy if you do that I found that out. says:

Sounds like Jd. DIDN’T mix it properly, i used my stick blender aNd it worked beautifully.

    2. These weregood, but the carb count seems off. I tried several brands if almond flour and could not get the carb count below 4net carbs, even subtracting out fiber and sweetener. What brand of flour did toy use? Both Bob’s and Blue Diamond are 4net carbs per 2Tbsp

  32. I love this RECIPE. I am doing lazy keto so i used coconut sugar and i put an Extra tablespoon of it in the Batter. My family and i loved it.

    1. So happy you and your family enjoyed the waffles! Thanks for the review and for stopping by, Elizabeth <3

  33. Will this recipe make pancakes? I don’t have a waffle iron.

    1. We haven’t tested it for pancake but it should work! Test it out with 1 pancake and if the pancakes r chewy add a tablespoon or two of almond flour.
