A healthier alternative to banana bread made with wholesome ingredients. This chocolate banana bread is moist, fudgy, delicious, and is sure to become a new family favorite!

Healthy banana bread?! is that even possible!! That was the reaction from my husband and daughters when I told them I’m making a healthy chocolate banana bread. They looked at me like I’m a crazy lady and smiled. Then when they tasted it, they went nuts. I swear you guys, this bread is 1000x better than any banana bread you’re going to taste and no one will ever be able to tell it’s “healthy”.

I used oat flour along with regular flour and replaced sugar with honey. And because bananas are naturally super sweet, they pretty much do the job of sugar. I also replaced the oil with coconut oil and added some Greek yogurt for extra moisture and flavor.

What you Will Need:

To make this delicious healthy banana bread, you will need:

  • Flour
  • Oat flour
  • Cocoa Powder
  • Coconut Oil
  • Greek Yogurt
  • Honey
  • Mashed Bananas
  • and a few other kitchen staples

To begin making the banana bread, simply combine all the dry ingredients and set aside. Then whisk together all the wet ingredients and incorporate the dry.

Mix well and pour into a greased loaf pan.

Bake for 45 minutes and that’s it! your home will smell like a french bakery in no time 🙂

All that’s left is to patiently let this delicious chocolate banana bread cool down before slicing!

  1. This turned out delicious. A very easy recipe to follow however I completely forgot to add baking soda and it still turned out moist and brownie like. I did add 1/4 cup of brown sugar but I just like things on the sweeter side. I might add walnuts next time but the recipe is perfect the way it is!
    Thank you!

  2. Hi, can i use all wheat flour without the oat flour? Thanks to advise!

    1. All-purpose flour! It’s the “plain” not the self-rising.

  3. I made this last week but I had my oven to high, I tried it again tonight and itโ€™s amazing, Iโ€™ve been making different chocolate banana bread receipes for a few years and this is the most delicious one Iโ€™ve ever made, itโ€™s rich and the coffee and salt adds the perfect balance, so easy to make too. Thank you xxx

  4. This is very good! I baked it in two 9×9 pans for 24 mins and they turned out perfect. More brownie like, which was what I was hoping for. Me and my kiddos enjoyed them very much!

  5. Hi,

To make gluten free – would i just use all oat flour or something else?

what can you recommend. i am new to gluten free.

    thanks
    katie

  6. I have made THis numerous times fir my family and it is outstanding!!

  7. I made this tonight – my family could not stop eating it! It is so yummy, rich and delicious. My husband could not believe it had no sugar in it. I made it without any oat flour (I ran out of oats). The true star of the recipe was the banana – tasted so good ๐Ÿ™‚ So I substituted regular flour for oat flour. Next time, I will try it with oat flour and am looking forward to it. Thanks for this recipe!

  8. I love this recipe and make it often. Do you think it will work if I sub the regular flour with more oat flour? I’m hoping it should ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Rich, delicious and guilt-free. Next time will add a bit more of honey.

  10. I just took this out of the oven. It is unbelievably good. I’ve been battling to make things gluten free for my husband that don’t taste gluten free. This recipe was amazing! A big bonus was that it didn’t have any refined sugar and it didn’t need it because of the bananas and honey. Loved the addition of coffee in the recipe.
I made mine in an 8 ” x 8″ glass pan and cooked it for about 40 minutes.
So delicious. Thank you for sharing! I’ll be making this again!

  11. This is so decadent and delicious! The best ive ever had! Thank you for this recipe! Its already a favorite!

  12. I made this a little over a week ago and OMG! It was the best thing ever!!! So much so that I am making as I type this. Not one, but two loaves! I have found my go to recipe. It is seriously perfect. It comes out super moist. The only thing I changed was using coconut coffee instead of regular. Can’t wait to devour as soon as it comes out of the oven.

  13. This is happening in my home as soon as possible!!! It looks fantastic!
