How to Make Keto Waffles
Making these keto waffles is super easy and only takes a few minutes! I’ve included step by step photos and a full recipe card at the bottom of the post.
Begin by adding all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth, about 1 minute. You want to make sure the cream chees is fully incorporated and almost lump free. At this point, you can go ahead and add your favorite add-ins. We like to add berries, or these delicious sugar-free chocolate chips for a keto-friendly sweet treat!
Next, grease a waffle maker and pour batter into the waffle maker. Cook according to waffle maker instructions or until crispy and golden! Enjoy with maple syrup, or with fried chicken, or with your favorite sauces!
Keto Maple Syrup:
Keto maple syrup is tricky to find because most “sugar-free” maple syrups contain hidden sugars. This Maple Syrup is the only brand we recommend (not sponsored!). It’s rich and thick, perfectly sweetened with natural sweeteners, and is by far the best maple syrup we’ve found.
How Many Carbs Are in this Keto Waffle?
There are 2 Net Carbs in each Waffle. 5 Net Carbs Subtract (1g Fiber) and (2g Sugar Alcohol) from the Erythritol.
What type of Waffle Maker will I Need?
You can make these waffles in a Belgian waffle maker and the recipe should yield 3-4 Begilan waffles or make them in a standard waffle maker. This recipe also works great in the dash mini waffle maker!
How to Store and Freeze Keto Waffles
These waffles are best eaten right away but can also be stored for future use. Leftovers can be kept in the fridge in an airtight container or zipseal bags for up to 4 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months. To reheat, simple pop in the toaster for a few seconds or until crispy!

They are delicious and very fluffy!! I wonde, if I put the batter in cake shape and bake it as a cake, would it work?
My daughter made these for me when I came home after surgery. I needed healthy food to help me heal. These waffles are delicious so I don’t feel like I’m giving up anything
Why does it says 8 oz cream cheese 1/2 block in the recipe
I made these the other day and they were really good tasting. I’ve made other keto waffles from other websites and they either taste eggy, or alot of almond flour. I was skeptical about these but when I tred them, I was happy. Keeping this recipe for sure. Thank you.
Absolutely delicious. And soooo easy. Thank You!!!
Taste is good – BUT its really important to add one egg at a time. My batter was way too thin and I had to add more Almond Flour.
I really enjoyed this recipe but will certainly cut it in half next time. Flavor was so good and satisfied the craving. I put 2 strawberries and a little less than 1/4 of blueberries on mine (could of used less). Mine didn’t crisp but the flavor was there. I’m thinking that maybe next time I’ll separate my eggs and whip the whites separately then fold them in. That’s how I do normal waffles.
It says you can sun cream cheese with heavy cream. Use the same measurement as cream cheese?
These waffles are serious delicious, I added a dash of cinnamon too! I also topped with Blueberries. 5 stars for sure 🌟
I didn’t have vanilla so I used almond extract and used coconut oil. Of course put butter and sugar free syrup on them after they were done. Even more yummy than the first time I made them!!!
😋😋😋
I made these for breakfast today and used my little dash waffle iron. I was able to get 18 delicious heart shaped waffles with your recipe. I froze 11 of them for another time. So quick, easy, and yummy. Thank you!
Totally making these tonight…even the comments are making my mouth drool.
Delicious, I’ve tried, a few recipes and this is the closest to the real thing. I used Carmel extract instead, I’m out of vanilla. New staple in my house, Keto on!
Very good! Mine didn’t come out crispy either but that didn’t matter. Will make these a great deal. Would made a great sandwich bread also!
Can the batter be made ahead and used within 2-3 days?
I would not suggest that as the eggs will not hold up well.
Just tried these…taste good. On thing, mine didn’t come out crispy? I did use an artificial (Vegan?) Creamcheese….are they crispy like a normal waffle if made with real cream cheese?
Update….last one was cooked a bit hotter and the waffle iron was almost overfilled and it definitely seems more “waffle-like” So I might have been not cooking them right:)
can the batter be frozen?
Obviously not like real waffles but darn close. I find that the more crispier the waffle, the tastier it is. I have been missing my waffles for Sunday brunch and these were satisfying, will incorporate them into my diet from here on out. Not waffles but a great replacement.
These waffles are our go-to weekend brunch! We have made them 5 or 6 times, but the last time we made them we separated the egg whites, beat them to stiff peaks, and folded back in just prior to putting in the waffle iron. It’s a little more fussy but they had a fuller body. I think we will do that going forward!
These are great! Made breakfast for dinner and used my Mickey Mouse shaped waffle maker and it made 7. My husband even loved them! Heated the leftovers in the toaster this morning and they were still pretty good. Thanks!
Glad to hear! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Yay! Thank you for this keto waffle recipe. I have been missing waffles since I started a keto diet. This recipe is quite good. It smells exactly like waffles as it cooks, the taste and texture have a hint of almond flour, but it’s minimal. Once you top your keto waffle (I like S/F Whipped Topping and a small handful of berries on mine) you cannot tell the difference at all.
Very good! Satisfied my urge for waffles. I made one mistake and decided there should be salt in the recipe. Nope – should have followed it exactly.
I’m not strict keto. I’m diabetic well controlled with a low carb diet. I altered this recipe with 15 raspberries pureed with 1 1/2 tblsp of Too Good berry greek yogurt plus 1 tblsp of coconut flour to thicken up. These were pretty great.
This recipe was good, better than others I have tried. Definitely will make again.
I agree with Catherine! Wonderful!!!
Made these yesterday for my family and AMAZING!!!! So happy we are living the Keto LIFE! Thank you for this amazing recipe!
Has anyone tried freezing these waffles? I made a half recipe for a weekend breakfast, but I’d love to try making a full recipe and saving the extras for a weekday breakfast.
I have frozen these to eat throughout the week. I feel like they freeze beautifully, but you will want to heat them up in a toaster or toaster oven. Of course they are better when fresh made but heated in the toaster oven until the edges are slightly crisp is a very close second! And while I agree the ChocZero syrup is good, to me I much prefer the sugar free Mrs. Butterworths. I find it’s much thicker and richer tasting, without the ‘sliminess’ found in other sf products.
Can you make these ahead of time and freeze? If so how long will they be good for when freezing
You can make them ahead of time and they will last in the freezer for up to 3-4 months.
This is definitely the best waffle recipe. I was skeptical as batter seems thin but it is perfect. Not eggy at all. I used half cream cheese half whipping cream because thats was handy.
OMG! Just tried this recipe. Added a tsp maple extract because, no syrup. Cut the erythritol to 1 1/2 Tbls to suit me, no yuck cooling or aftertaste. These are SO GOOD. Taste like regular waffles. Will be a regular for me. I filled the waffle iron each time and they were beautiful. Granular & gritty ? You did something way wrong !
Taste eggy, but they did look like flour waffles. Not terrible, but I don’t think I’ll make this again.
These are perfect! I use a little less almond flour (like a Tbs less) and make up the difference with psyllium husk powder. And I use half monkfruit sweetener and half brown swerve. They are delicious!
Super easy and delicious
These were wonderful, I added bacon bits to it. Wow, with sugar free maple syrup, this is a keeper!
The ingredients list Keto Maple Syrup. The instructions say put all the ingredients in a blender. Even the syrup?
No, the syrup is just for topping. Enjoy 🙂
I don’t ever comment on recipes but wanted to say these were delicious! If you haven’t made them yet then do it!!! I halved the recipe and bnb used my mini dash and it made 4. I added some lilys to the last 2. I’m just happy I had 2 to go with syrup since I ate 2 as soon as they came out cause they were so light and fluffy!! Made them last night and about to go make them for breakfast to go with my coffee. Yummy!
These were delicious and super easy! I have been on Leto for over 2 years now and a lot of times, keto-fied things rarely taste like the original. These might be even better than regular waffles, in my opinion! Thanks for creating a recipe to satisfy my carb craving!
I used the dash mini waffle maker. I wonder what the net carbs are for the dash size waffle which is much smaller than the waffle maker in the photo.
Do you use all the egg or just the ehites
Delicious! I sifted my almond flour first and mixed everything but the egg whites with a whisk. I also replaced half of the monk fruit sweetener with swerve brown. I then folded in beaten egg whites and blueberries. They were so fluffy and flavorful! I wasn’t expecting keto waffles to taste so good. Thanks for the great recipe!
I love the almond flour version, but what does “ Almond flour (can sub 1:4 ratio, 2 tbsp coconut flour)” mean?
1. You can replace 1/4 of the almond flour with 2tbsp of coconut flour, or
2. You can replace *all* of the almond flour with just 2tbsp of coconut flour?
It seems like they’re indicating the second, but that sounds crazy—1.5tsp of flour is enough for a whole waffle?
COCONUT FLOUR is a lot more absorbent than almond flour. Therefore, only a much smaller amount can be used when replacing almond flour.
OMG. I was so in the mood for waffles and this was by far the easiest recipe I found. Excellent! I did not add the sweetener and used 4oz heavy creamy for the cream cheese All in the blender then into hot waffle iron flip a few times until smoke is little to none,. Topped with a few blueberries and sugar free Maple syrup.
best and deliciousssss waffles 😋 the recipe is easy to do !!!! Now my favorite keto waffles ! Tksssss
That’s great to hear!
I’ve tried many keto waffle recipes, this is perfect. No question you would never know they were keto. Texture is as it should be and flavor is wonderful. I actually tasted the raw batter before I baked them cause I did not want to waste my time baking another lousy tasting waffle.
