Is banana bread bad for weight loss?

Even though this is a healthier recipe for banana bread, it still is going to be higher in carbs than some people like. My thought on recipes like this is that if you were previously eating bread that was loaded with sugars and fats, this recipe is going to be a much healthier option for you to switch to and enjoy.

How many calories are in a thin slice of banana bread?

This really depends on the thickness of your slice but it’s a safe bet to say that one slice of banana bread has at least 150 calories in it. It may be more, it might be less, but this is a good average to go by.

How do you know when banana bread is done baking in the oven?

The easiest way to know that banana bread is done baking is to use a toothpick or a clean butter knife to test it out. Once the timer has gone off, stick the toothpick into the middle of the banana bread and pull it back out.

If the toothpick is clean, the banana bread is done and ready to be taken out of the oven. If there is still batter on the banana bread, you need to put it back in the oven to give it more time to bake.

What mix-ins can you add to banana bread?

Anything that you want. Just know that the more that you add in, the more calories that it adds to the bread. Some add-ins that are quite popular are crunched pecans or nuts, chocolate chips, blueberries, and even raisins.

Can you freeze baked banana bread?

You bet! This is one way to make a few loaves and have some stored for later! You can leave the loaf whole and just wrap it and store it in a freezer-safe bag or container until you’re ready to eat it.

You can also slice it and freeze it as well.

To unthaw, just move it to the fridge for a short time or take it out of the freezer and set it out on the counter. It will unthaw quickly and easily.

  1. I like the ingredients except the amount of sodium. I googled “healthy, low sodium banana bread recipes” but the amount of sodium in the baking soda alone was too much. So I used half a tsp of the bkg soda and no added salt. I substituted raw walnuts, almonds and 1/4 cup raisins for the choc chips and used 6 TBS. of avocado oil rather than the 8 tbs of coconut oil. It turned out well.

  2. So delicious!! I love this recipe
I put a 1/3 cup of honey ( and still perfectly sweet)
And I did 1/4 cup olive oil and a 1/4 cup applesauce

Came out delicious sweet and moist

  3. Can you replace coconut oil with something else I have allergies to coconut

    1. You can probably switch to any oil you like
      I put
      1/4 cup olive oil
      And 1/4 cup applesauce
( because I wanted to cut down with fat..)
Came out perfect and really yummy

  4. What would be the best way to keep this for a few days? Refrigerator or leave it out?

  5. If you want to replace the whole wheat flour with Almond flour, any thoughts? Thank you!
