This wrap is named the supreme CrunchWrap for a good reason and it sure does live up to its name. Just imagine layers of queso, taco spiced beef, a crunchy tostada shell in the middle and refreshing lettuce, tomato, cilantro and a sprinkle of lime. These Crunch Wraps are extremely delicious and worth every calorie!
They also freeze and store well in the fridge and make a great make-ahead recipe.
It all starts with a very large flour tortilla. Be sure to use the largest size you can find because sometimes it’s not big enough to cover the entire tostada. A 10” flour tortilla should be good enough, but if you can get your hands on a 12″ tortilla, than that’s even better! Also, be sure they are super fresh because you don’t want them ripping when you try to fold the wrap.
The other Tex-Mex ingredients you will need are a jar of queso, 4 tostada shells, and pack of taco seasoning. You should easily find everything in the same isle.
Please Note: If you can not find tostada shells, purchase corn tortillas and bake them in the oven at 400F for 10 minutes or until crispy.

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup queso or nacho cheese dip
- 6 Large burrito-size flour tortillas 10 or 12 inch
- 6 to stada shells or corn tortillas see note
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 1 to mato diced
- 1/4 cup minced cilantro
- juice of 1 lime
- 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet to medium/high heat for 2-3 minutes. Add beef to skillet and cook and crumble the ground beef until no longer pink; Drain grease. Stir in the taco seasoning mix and water and allow mixture to simmer for 10 minutes.
- On a clean flat surface, lay one flour tortilla on a flat surface. Spread about 2 tablespoons of queso on the center of tortilla, Top with about 1/2 cup of taco meat. Top the meat with 1 tostada, Spread a thin layer of sour cream over the tostada shell. Top with lettuce, tomato, cilantro, a sprinkle of lime and shredded Mexican cheese.
- To fold the crunch wrap, start with the bottom of the flour tortilla and fold the edge up over the center. Continue to work your way around, folding the flour tortilla over the center fillings. If there is a spot left open in the center, cut a piece of another flour tortilla and tuck it in the center, so it's fully covered. Repeat with all remaining tortillas, tostadas and fillings.
- Heat a medium non-stick pan to medium heat; pray with cooking spray or drizzle with a light layer of oil. Place one crunch-wrap seam-side down onto the skillet. Cook for 2 - 3 minutes per side or until golden-brown and crunchy. Repeat process with all crunch-wraps. Serve hot!
Notes
Absolutely delicious! I used grilled chicken sprinkled with taco seasoning as I didn’t have any ground beef. Easy to follow directions. I served with sour cream and a mango pineapple salsa. So good. Thank you for a great recipe!
FYI the Pinterest link doesn’t seem to be set up. would love to save this for future reference. Thanks!
These were great! After you freeze them how do you heat them back up?
DELICIOUS!! QUITE FILLING!!
Made these Beef Crunch-Wraps for Super Bowl LIV…. What a HIT for hubby and myself!
It was quite filling.. I ate one, where as my husband reached for another, with a smile, exclaiming “Don’t be mad. These are good!!”
Look forward to making these again, so your recipe’s saved as a Favorite.
Thanks for sharing your recipe, Layla
So happy to hear that!!
These are so good. I consider myself a gourmet and cook all the time. I used home made queso and on mine, chopped jalapenos. My kids absolutely loved them. The crunch of the cooked tortilla, then the soft ingredients followed by the crunch of the tostada is the best. Highly recommend.
How do you make your homemade queso?
Really yummy and my family loved them! Do you happen to have the macros for this recipe?
Very nice made it for my wife and she absolutely loved it
My husband, son, and I thought these were great. I made a cheese sauce and used tortilla chips for the crunch because I didn’t have tostadas. Making them a second time tonight.
I was thinking about using doritos for the crunch. Do you think that would work? It looks so Yummy!!
Yass!! Doritos are soo good in these wraps 😀
these are amazing! My husband especially loved them. I didn’t have the giant wraps so I just folded them in half, I used half of a taco shell for the inside and I grilled them on my George foreman grill. yum!
